anothergood thing about tinting is....you dont get alot of sunlight...but...sunglasses will do the trick..i guess it's for your passengers...but tinting your car does really look nice...i say if you're gonna tint...you do a slight one maybe 15-25%...enough so you can see easily from the inside and not increase the horrible blindspots on our cars.

well all my passengers dont have sunglasses and im pretty sure my little brother doesnt like the sun glaring down at him. i sleep in my car sometimes when im waiting for someone and the tint does for a fact keep the heat down than when i had no tint. i got limo tint in the back and i dont have problems backing up.

as for thieves, think about it this way... are you going to try and look inside a car with limo tint not knowing if theres someone sitting inside?

An OK point about the thieves, but thieves are STILL going to target a tinted car over a non-tinted car. If I was sleeping in my car I would rather have the thief leave me alone because he could see me rather than not see me and then I would have to confront him when he breaks my window. About your comment about your little brother, Is your windshield tinted then?? Because if it isn't then there is still going to be sun glaring down at him. Does he have solar urticaria or something??

My brother has no skin/sun problems but he hates it when the sun is beaming down on him. Ever since I got tint, he never had to get anything like a newspaper to block the sun from his face.

And as for thives get this. I remembered one of my friends brothers got out ofjail for grand theft auto so I gave him a call last night. I asked him if tint made him wanna jack a car more than one without tint. He said he didn't care about tint. He would know if someone had a nice system if they were bumping their music loud. If the driver looked rich then that's another incentive. He said systems are what usually he finds. He may get lucky with some other stuff but that's in the trunk (where nobody could see anything at all), never inside the car. The stuff he finds in the cars is usually books, cds, coins, parking passes, makeup, and clothes. That's it nothing of actual value worth stealing. Sometimes he used to steal cars just to get from point a to point b. So it didn't matter to him.

Wow it took you this long to post on my thread Huey. I have seen you on every other thread and I knew you were going to post. IMO (no hating) I think your tint really takes away from the look of the car. Your car is one reason that I don't like the look of tint. That is just my opinion, but if you like it, great. I think it is funny, even with tint that dark you still wear sunglasses must be hard to see, especially at night???

So if you have sunglasses on and you look out your side windows it is more tint than you needed in the first place. Ok, so some of you tint for privacy, why do you need privacy? What are you doing in you car that requires going beyond your state law and puts you at risk of getting a ticket? Why do you want to make it harder to see at night? I think you are more at risk of hitting someone because you couldn't see in your blind spot or that person who accidentally forgot to turn on their lights. Personally I think that tint takes away from the good looking wheels and body of the car because people are just looking at your tint. Tinting also is harder to clean, scratches more easily and only lasts 5 to 10 years and then it starts bubbling up. I would rather have a dark pair of sunglasses that can make it seem like you have tint all around you when you want it and not have to worry about the problems with tint. Post your opinion.
You are either naive or stupid. First of all, people don't tint so they can see better when its sunny outside. Most people tint for the look and second for the long-term protection it does to the interior of a car. Some people tint for privacy cause they don't want people checking out what system they have installed. I have no problem seeing at night with the tint. As far as bubbling up, it usually doesn't do that if you got a quality job. If it does, just get it tinted again free of charge. I wear sunglasses too. As far as the crap you said about tinting, I question your intelligence.
well said yes.. when you see the ppl with purple looking tint and bubbles its cuz its cheap quality work... titinum on the other hand neve fades or becomes purple and bubbles really depend where you get it installed... also if you wear sunglass's while in a tinted car makes it more dark = your wearing cheap sunglass's..
sunglass that makes everything darker to reduce from hurrting your eye's is crap.. sunglass that dosnt make everything dark.. just a little lighter.. and reduce glare is what your looking for...
You like BLUBLOCKERS!!!

Having that dark of tint at night is like wearing your dark sunglasses at night, not a smart thing to do

you also forgot a lot of people also prefer tint becuase it keeps the peices of tempered glass intact in the event of an accident and not further injuring occupants. no one said window film has to be pitch black to be effective.

Also, it is established fact that film eliminates damage due to U.V. exposure (there are other causes such as heat, wear and dirt also). Film also slows the transfer of heat through glass (U-factor) and allowing the A/C and heating systems to operate more efficently.

There are plenty of good reason for film, and plenty of bad ones also for people who use extremely dark film. I used to tell people constantly who wanted pitch black tint that sunglasses are cheaper and you can take them off at night too. But that certainly doesn't mean that tint shouldn't be used. Only a total moron would refuse the stuff based on a few incorrect assumptions. Don't like tint? fine... don't get it, still want all the benefits and not the look, then install clear film. Gee... wow... tough solution.

Personally, I could care less if ANYONE tints their cars. If I welded the roll-up doors shut in the shop, I'd be thrilled. Commercial/Residential is more enjoyable - and you never have to explain the benefits of film to them, they already know. .... and when you get done coating someone's sunroom, they never accuse you of changing their crappy radio presets or stealing their ___ **** and dirty panties from the trunk that never even opened.

BTW - uncoated glass filters UV-A. Most sun damage is caused by UV-B, which is blocked by tint (not uncoated glass). That includes factory colored glass (e.g. xB), that is not a coating but rather a coloring. Big difference.
