LOL, when the cop came in the ambulance thinking I was dead and I looked him in the eye and said "Hey there Trooper" he turned white and almost hit the floor then started telling me how lucky I was... I doubt he gave me a ticket.

Glad you're OK... just makes me actually feel much safer in my tC and happier with my purchase in terms of safety. Though it's unfortunate that that feeling of comfort came at the expense of your body and your tC. Sorry man.
But are you sure that was a dog? And not... an elephant?! That's a hell of a lot of damage.

Had the same thing happen to me last year. Walked away from an accident that I shouldn't have walked away from. So, I feel you...
You have to get right back behind the wheel though. My accident started by me getting rearended and the whole car thrown into oncoming traffic (where I then got hit head on). Over a year later and I still flinch when I see someone come up on me in my rearview mirror. It may never go away. But I'm not letting it rob me of the joys of driving. You gotta "get back on that horse" as they say.
By the way, if you have the receipts from your stereo install, work with the insurance company to compensate you for it...
hang in there, bro.

Just glad you made it out ok. I was in a pretty bad accident when i had just turned 19. I was broad sided by some jack **** going 60 in a 40, cutting off people going down the road. I turned left out of a gas station, and he accellerated around a Mitsubishi Montero and hit my old car just a few inches away from the drivers side door. I did a 360 onto on coming traffic....it wasnt a pretty site. Ended up going to court and found the other driver guilty, he had to pay up. Took almost a year to get over it, kinda scary. Let us know if we can help in any way.

wow, first off thank god you're ok, looks like the tC did it's job commendably.
second, try to get behind the wheel again as soon as possible. was in a bad head-on collision when I was 16, I was doing 35 up a hill and someone coming down came across the double yellow doing 45 and hit me head-on. Put my father in the hospital for 2-3 days, totalled both cars, and I walked away without a scratch (1980 Monte Carlo, no airbags...). Drove again 2 days later, and was a nervous wreck anytime anyone passed by going the opposite direction, but it definitely helps. Nighmares should go away relatively soon, mine lasted a week or two but were manageable.
hope this helps, it sucks but you'll get through it... only lasting effect will be an obsession about wearing seatbelts.
