Well I just called my dealership again and they are going to order a 2006 tC for me as soon as my insurance paperwork comes in. I'll finally have a use for my 40gig iPod now. I'm a little doped up on lortabs at the moment but the good news is that I don't feel a thing now. Thank you

Good to see that you made it out safely, makes me glad that I opted for the extra airbags.

Damn, those are some crazy looking wrecks. Luckily I didn't flip over but something happened because I was facing the road with the trees I hit behind me. Doesn't make sense.

good thing you made it out of that safely. i got in a small fender bender and i was still freaking out while driving around.. though driving damaged kind of made me feel like people gave me more room because i looked "crazy"... but maybe that was just me.

and i thought the car looked very "back the future II"-ish with the back left tire like that.

Wow dammit man glad you are alright, that looks freaking awful!

Insurance, yeah, they wanna know if your dead because it costs less to bury someone than it does to keep you in the hospital and go thru rehabilitation. BUT at the same time they want cars to be safe. #^$@*(&^! Jerks.

Holy crap, that is one scary wreck- you seriously are one lucky guy... It does say a lot for the safety of the tC though, there have been several pics and stories of bad accidents on the forums, and the drivers/passengers always seem to be mostly unharmed.

I have a wreck story too, I rearended someone in a cadillac several years ago (I was still in college and driving my parent's dodge shadow.) The guy in front of the caddy braked suddenly and made a left turn, the caddy braked too and my car slid right under his bumper- pushed the engine back, pretty much totally destroyed the front end. The airbags deployed, and I got a nice bruise from the seatbelt. Amazingly, the car was not totalled (barely), was repaired and I drove it for a few more years after that. Ever since that wreck though I can't stand to drive too close to anyone's front bumper- people are always cutting me off because I leave so much space. And i'm a terrible passenger, I always have the urge to press on non-existent brakes if the driver tailgates

Wow. First let me say that I'm glad that you're okay.

I showed this thread to my mom and told her what happened, and she said, "The tC really is safe!" Heck yes it is! lol. I'm sooo glad that I bought a tC. Seeing posts like these just makes me even more thankful.

I hope everything works out for you. And yes, like many have said, the best thing to do is to get back on the road once you recover. It will help you to "face your fear" and become comfortable once again. I know that you won't want to, but it really is best. =/
I still flinch when someone looks like they're going to pull out in front of me from the right, or not stop completely.

Glad to hear you're OK!
Also glad to see how well the car protected you in what sounded like a very major crash.
I'm tempted to forward this thread to the VW site I used to belong to till my Passat just totally crapped out on me like the typical VW does these days. The VW defenders/lovers in that site just hate the TC and not designed in Germany. They consider our cars to be "POS" cars and are always touting how much more safe their VWs are because their build and design are supposed to be so much more superior. Your crash just proves them totally wrong.
Hope you decide to get back into another TC soon! I heard the newest ones have nifty radios!

LOL. Good to see your ok.

Where are all the usual assh*les going, " BULLSH*T!! There's no way that you were only going 75, and if you were, it's your fault for speeding that you got in a wreck! Dumbass!

LOL.

LOL, I was just returning home from my g/f house and I wasn't in a rush to get back to my crappy apartment so I had no reason to speed.

Never mix Lortab 7.5's and Flexeril....

Good to know you are still with us bro! And I'm happy to hear injuries were minimal. Someone up there must be looking out for you. Good stuff indeed! Sorry bout the tC though, but really in the scheme of things, it's just a car. Yeah I said it! lol.
