Default Totaled the tC tonight + Pics = 56 BEWARE

Well, I totaled the RS 2 tonight, so knock me off of the list of 2600.

Here's what happened.

I was driving home from my night class on the interstate. Two lane - I was in the right, a tractor trailer was in the left. No one was in front of us, so I have no idea why he was in the left lane. He starts to get over into my lane as I was right beside him. Reacting quickly, I hit the brake and I must have hit a wet patch, so I went into a sideways spin going left, straight into the trailer. I tried to get out of the spin, but failed. It all happened so quick. I thought I actually went underneath the trailer, but in fact I flipped the car and rolled it (says witnesses). All I remember thinking was, "Oh God, this is it, I am going to die and there are so many things in my life I want to do and so many things I want to say to people." I didn't want to die. I braced my arms over my face and tucked in and closed my eyes. My head hit the a-pillar or the steering wheel. Glass was everywhere. I swallowed it, down my clothes, you name it. When I opened my eyes, I was in the turn around point on the highway (where the cops sit and try to get ya for speeding). I was on all 4 wheels, the car was still running. I shut the car off, took off my seat belt, and tried to get out. My driver's door wouldn't open. The car is in really bad condition. I loved the car so much, but ohwell. It's replaceable. I'm not.

I will forever be a Scion owner because of this experience. The car saved my life, I could be dead right now. Scion FTW.

Another tC is in the works, so I shall be back...

*EDIT-2/20/07: Appraisal deemed it totaled. Insurance company is issuing me a check and I will use it as my down payment on a 2007 tC Release Series 3.0.

I'm coming back harder this time..................

Neo, I know. I'm mad, but ohwell. I'm thankful I walked away with cuts, scratches, and bruises.

You might have totalled the RS2, but im sure your dealer is taking orders for the RS3...

Wow! I'm really glad that you're ok! Look at the bright side: the RS3 tC is right around the corner. Maybe you can keep your RS status after all...

I'm glad you're okay! I'm surprised your airbags did not deploy at all. Also, what happened with the guy in the trailer?

That bastard pulled on the side of the road maybe 200 feet away. Told the cop he wasn't going into my lane at all.

THE COP HAD THE NERVE TO WRITE ME A WARNING!

he was like, "I'm not trying to make you out to be the bad guy or the person at fault, but you have to drive more carefully." I was like WTF

Any accident you could get out walking is a blessing for the most part. Thank god you're okay.

BTW, you're not in the east coast? I heard they are getting really nasty weather - snow/ice. Stay safe.

That really sucks dude. From my experience, when a trailer starts coming at me in my lane, just downshift and punch it and try to clear the trailer. Its usually the trailer swaying and not the rig itself. Just remember, cars can be replaced but people can't.

The tC has one of the strongest pillar set in the industry. Toyota knew they were taking a HUGE change with making an all glass roof, and therefore WAY over-engineered the tC's roof.

Glad our cars are safe, and even more glad you made it out to tell us about it!

man, you're lucky to be alive!

so any chance you could grab a few parts out of your car before they take it away? (like the cruise control, shift ****, alcantara seat covers, grilles)
