First off, if you can afford it -- do it! I owned an '04 GTO, just got rid of it though. 30 MPG?? I don't think so. I drove 95% highway miles and managed 20.1 MPG consistently. That is the reason I got rid of it. If you have driven it then there is no doubt about the decision, you get hooked immediately!

If you want anymore information, shoot me a PM. I would be glad to help you.

Idk man I would consider looking for the 6.0 one I understand that they r a little bit more to insure and stuff but if your considering moving to a car like that then I hope you have your head on straight nd what you would be getting into (not bashing you because you seem to know what your doing) but there shouldn't be too much difference in gas mileage plus if ur driving a v8 as a dd you could forget about gas mileage its just goes past a certain point where to try and conserve it gets hard it'll become routine ya know but GL if you do it I would want to know I have the faster version but that's just me

The aftermarket for the LS1 is much broader that the LS2. Also, the LS1 has been around a lot longer and is more reliable. Also the '05 and '06's had a serious stru rub problem.

without a doubt. the lines are more fluid and have more personality. I am not trying to offend anyone I am just stating there is a difference in stock personality between these 2 cars.

I was excited for these to come out because of the heritage of the GTO but when this modern version was unvelied it just doesn't come close to doing the GTOname any sort of justice.

LMAO....

I considered a GTO before I got my tC. It just wasn't going to work for me... insurance as a 20 yr. old male on that car and the gas mileage. They do sound mean though...

So...if someone handed you the keys to a tC and a GTO you guys would choose the tC? That is if you didn't have to worry about insurance, gas, etc.

Just curious.

there is no way your getting 30 mpg out of a gto. your buddy who says thats what he gets is wrong. period. a guy at work once told me his f150 gets 35 mpg. i just laughed at him and walked away. good luck with it if you get it. too bad it looks like a cavalier.

Yes I would take the tc. Not even a momentary second thought.

Checked out your car in your profile, very nicely done. The GTO's looks are either love it or hate it. GTO's are mostly straight-line power, but with a Pedder's suspension upgrade they handle quite nicely.

I guess when you love a car you always stay loyal to it.
