Uhh.. Do I want to get Sponsored?
Well I think I have a chance to be qualified to be sponsored. I found online (CarSponsorships.com) and I want to know how many of you have done this and is it really worth doing. (the ad for them was on this site actually)

Well I did it with the old xB forced some parts on me I didnt want. When you first register decal's u get coupons and blankraput give u discount... After that if u put time and money into the car u can get others.

IMO, not worth it. Just decals and discounts.

Don't do it. Technically it is not a scam, but those sponsors will ruin your car with their average to below average products and tons of decals. Do you want to have to pay to limit you choices like that? Getting real sponsorships is hard work and CarSponsorships makes money on people who either don't know that or do and want to take the easy route.
Let's see if I can make this analogy work: CarSponsorships is like getting the latest video game system when you were young. Since you spent the money on the video game system, suddenly you have all of these new friends hanging out at your place. You delude yourself into thinking you're a popular kid, but once they all leave when someone else gets the system you realize that true friends are hard to come by. [Side note: This didn't happen to make because my Mom believed NES would rot my brain. Instead I was one of the many kids over at the neighbors' house because he was the only one around that had the original NES and all of the games.]
If you want to talk to someone who has successfully deluded themselves into thinking CarSponsorships.com was and still is a good idea, talk to the user BreakAway. I got into it with him on the thread that was supposed to have hot women on tCs when he posted this not-so-good-looking-girl next to his heavily decaled car "proudly sponsored" through, you guessed it, CarSponsorships. Hopefully we will all be lucky enough to have him post in this very thread.
Here is BreakAway's profile with pics of his car IF you still want to contact him:

for me, i guess, the discount for StreetFX was worth it. But yeah, if you want any kind of serious sponsorship carsponsorship.com is not worth it IMO. I had money to blow and figured what the hell, i got nothing to lose really.
Then again, carsponsorship.com has not returned ANY emails I sent them, so, i may just _____ at them and see what they have to say ;)
and, lol, get this: it seems like everyone gets the same 'sponsors', one of them being $400 bucks IF and ONLY IF you get 10 other people to sign up!
Anything i've ever read on these boards suggest the same thing, there is no quick way to sponsorship. Gotta be earned (usually by building a car all on your own $$$)

The best way to get a real sponsor is to put together packets with information about you and your car. I have put together about 10 different powerpoint presentations for different items that I wanted. I ended up getting a free paint job, heavily discounted wheels, racing seats and much more. Just contact your local companies and meet with them. Don't hound them too much but be aggressive. If you show that you can have local/regional marketing for them they will jump on it. These people spend thousands of dollars in marketing a year. Show them that the cost of parts is well spent on your car! I can email you some of the powerpoints i have put together. My most recent one was a turbo packet. We will see what happens!
