wait. what are you trying to do? you want two engines. so you have an extra, you want to take the brand new 1550 mile engine out and put it to the side while you work on the used one right? and you wanna turbo that one? then hit 300+ then take it out and then build it again for 400+ ?
or. do you want to build the used engine for 400+ now and then use that and turbo that? you are so confusing.

I'm gonna turbo my stock engine for a while running 230-240WHP at a reasonably low boost, then I'm gonna use the new engine with the turbo internals and shoot to 330WHP daily, try that for a few months and get a tune and boost controller to get 400WHP for drag racing...
Thanks, for the wikipedia like info on the 1ZZ,2ZZ, and 2AZ!

I say that a new engine with new turbo internals is a must for me when I step up to 300+ WHP when I turbo.

last time i checked. you had to READ to gain knowledge.
kasjdbaksdakjsd omfg. conceptual ideassssssss flooding my braaaaaain. shuttup.
and wait. so you are building two motors.
one running about 230 whp and hte other running 330 whp. yes?
then you are going to 400 from 330 right?
so bassically your pockets will run like this.
new engine
800 + 4 grand turbo bring you to 200+ whp
then you buy 5-6 grand 2nd stage turbo or that 1st stage toyota turbos turbo and toss previous engine to side THEN. you are going 400+ for drag.
which btw, is wayyyy less than most drag racers ive seen but thats not hte point im trying to prove.
anyways.
THEN you are going 400+ for drag. which will run about a grand maybe two.
i don't know.
to me. spending 12800 dollars where you could just be getting that 2nd stage turbo or whatever turbo and building up that turbo to however you want it with 5 or 6 maybe 7 grand seems more plausible and alot smarter.
also. thanks for pointing out that i read books.

^^ precisley what I was thinking.
By the way speakingof drag racing...if any of you have picked up this months issue of SCC there is a little booklet in the package about turbos, superchargers etc...sponsored by castrol. Anyway there is a sweet picture of Rado doing a SICK burnout at the drags!
Anyway.....12800 and swapping motors back and forth...who is this guy...and can I have soem of that time, money and resources? Sheesh.

Anyone that can afford to play around with multiple engines and go for 450, no wait, 200, or maybe 300, or ok, 315, or 295 WHP, is not going to be worrying about the cost of an engine for $800.
Forpinks, you post hundreds of times random pointless questions, then I see you in other threads TRYING to regurjitate the information people have been feeding you. You cant be the turbo pro and ask the dumb questions at the same time.
Get a clue and search, stop asking dumb questions already.

I'm gonna use a modded GReddy kit to get me to 400+ WHP...
The engines will both be turboed using the exact same turbo kit from 230-250 on my stock engine and the new different and built engine will go to 300WHP and I'll swap the assembly to a better one that is capable of 500+WHP but keeping it to 400-430WHP and also add some supporting upgrades to keep the engine from giving up when its boost is upped a bit.
I'm going to turbo my engine soon but keep it low at 230-250WHP, then go bigger with the newly bought low miles engine and add the turbo internals and other stuff to hang with the big boyz.

in the end you will have an engine that is not used.
and alot of time that has been wasted.
why don't you just turbo the one in your car right now. and just keep working on that now until you can "hang with the big boys" instead of wasting your money swtiching back and forth come on man. just stop wasting your time.
i mean sure, it would be nice if you had an engine to the side and turboed hte ____ out of that then dropped it in your car. and left the one in your car alone, then dropped the turbo one in your car and sold the old one. BUT.
you have not once said anything that resembles anything like that.
instead you want to.
turbo the one in your car
get new engine
take turbo out
turbo that one
put new internals
put new turbo in
take old engine out
drop turbo engine in
leave old engine to side.
or maybe sell it.
