I didn't know the stock intake manifold was made of plastic. You have to get me some pics of that.

I'm glad you were able to put out the fire before further damage was done. I suppose when you really get down in there you'll see if anything further was damaged, I hope not.

So what did you tell your insurance company? I know you didn't tell them you were out for a nitrous run.

Yeah they are coming Monday to look at it and I should have payment within 24 hours if all is good. I just told them I had a fire that got sucked into the intake and must have caused a backfire. The car was at idle so if they try and use the black box it won't show signs of misuse. Just that the car leaned out and popped. I should be back and running in about 3 weeks if all goes well. Which I have my fingers cross they do.

Even if you were moving the black box would not indicate nitrous BOOM. It would either indicate too rich or too lean. As long as some type of fire occurred then insurance should take care of it.....hopefully

update-----so the adjuster came and looked at the car, i got the rough estimate and should have the check in a day or two, seems like all will work out in the end. i would post pics but im not proud of all what happened, i wish i bought new and spent just a little more money. but what is done is done.

so here is a quick rundown of what is going on, everything that is messed up will be replaced with brand new parts since insurance is paying for it, and i am also adding a full kit instead of just the front lip. im still debating if im going to spend alittle more and get the weapon r intake manifold or not. and im ordering a set of function and form type2's from weaksauce. car should be on the road in about 2-3 weeks, im taking my time and doing it all right. once parts start arriving ill be posting pics

why, whats wrong with them, there are guys on them here, but no one with a scion, i was also thinking of bc's but haven't heard anything about them on a scion

We always see the good, show us some for the bad and ugly. People need to know what happens when nitrous goes bad and let it be a lesson learned to us all.

Ok wow... disregard that question in my thread lol. Thats one crazy story. Would've been crazy seeing someone jump out and rip off a bumper! sorry to see this all happened. At least its all getting fixed. Plus some new mods.

haha, i was going to get some pics this past weekend, but the wrecker came and got the car while i was at work, its in the shop now getting everything repaired cause insurance is forcing me to do a two party check due to the amount of damages. so hopes of a bunch of add ons is out the window. however i will be having the car back to the way it was along with having the side skirt repainted and the tail lights done a bit different. oh yeah, and coilovers finally! i hope its all done before the show on the 9th!

quick update. Car is in the shop. All bodywork is done just waiting on one part to start the car to insure no damage was done to the motor. I'm having the tail lights custom tinted and I got coilovers on order. My plan is to do all pics at once. I got some of the damage on my phone and I'll take some great onesof the car when it is done. Should be this week if the coils come in.

the rear emblem is off a late model corolla and the front i have no clue, i just measured then went on ebay and 90% of emblems listed had the size listed as well.
