honda>scion
simple.
IBTL, its jus to bad people had to rag on andrew, i thought it was a good idea. but i still dont think ur AEM intake is a knock off. ive already spoke to and talked to MADD people with taht style civic and all of them either has a grey pipe white aem sticker or grey pipe white sticker on there AEM intakes

I really don't see what the problem with running a knockoff intake. It's the same exact thing, just made by someone else. A long tube with a filter on the end. You can hook up a PVC pipe, attach a cone filter at the end, write AEM on it and it'll have the exact same outcome as buying a legit AEM intake.

Actually this thread has got some pretty good engine discussion.
Apples to apples the Honda motors are making more power per liter. At 2.4 the tc could have at least been 200hp from the factory. But it is the 2AZ-FE, FE stands for fuel economy. If it had a different head it would be a different story

The sad part about that, is that the fuel economy SUCKS. 22/28 on the sticker of a 'fuel efficient' 4-cyl coupe is horrible, down right horrible. Especially when the Civic and Cobalt (lol) are rated at 26-28/34-36.

I know the difference between VVT-i, VTEC, VVTL-i, and i-VTEC, I've been building race cars (for roadracing) for a while now, I was simplifying my words for argument's sake.
Like I said earlier, I'm not trying to bash anyone or their opinions. I'm just trying to spread the knowledge. My method of doing so may have been off but I hope you got what I meant.
I like to look towards the best qualities in any car I see or work in. But I know when the Civic has the tC beat and I'm sorry to say the tC is beat in almost every category. I really wish Toyota/Scion would come out with a real performance oriented sport compact car, but sadly I doubt that will happen in the near future.
BTW: Yes, I know about the FT86 concept but wait till it comes out, It may get watered down and not be anything like what the concept is. Anyone remember the Supra concept that became a FWD last gen. Celica back in the late 90's?

The tC's 2AZ-FE may come with Toyota's version of VTEC but still lacks power

Dude let it go already. I know the difference and got lazy with my words. If I had the energy to I could argue that VVT-I, VVTL-i, VTEC, and i-VTEC, and for $hits and giggles even MIVEC, and VANOS systems are all the same... but I'm not going to because thats a whole other can of worms.
