Default What The Hell Is This Noise lol????

Alright I think its my axles or joints or something along that line. Im bringing it in on the weekend to get my brakes done but I want them to fix this too but I was wondering if anyone heard this before and know what it is so I know what im gettin myself into with the money. Here is the video, any help is appreciated. Thanks. To explain this alittle more though when i accelerate I hear a quick rattling noise which I believe is the joint or axle and then I always hear that noise in the video when Im doing turns.

Have you hit something hard? It sound like it could be something in the steering linkage, or just something rubbing metal to metal, do you have any aftermarket like sway bars or lowering springs?

I would do a visual inspection of metal rubbing or just something out of place. Have a friend turn it and see where it is coming from. I hope it is not in the steering its self. Also check to see if all the sway bar bushing are in place as well, I have had sway bars go bad on my truck and they made a noise like that.

Mine did that for a while, but it went away when I tightened everything up down there. Also I noticed a leaking ball joint on the sway bar end link. It could be either of those

dude, hotchkis springs are known to rust and break, i would jack the car up take the wheels of and check your springs out, that doesnt sound good at all. sounds like something is binding

did it start after a heavy rain... u might want to shoot some monkey grease in the spring top and bottom mount of the shock assembly. my girl lives in a humid area of texas and she drives for every puddle and she pickd up some grit from a mud puddle and it mad the exact noise u could only hear it when u first take off and every once in a while through out the day so i pin pointed the prob it was the rubber mount to the shock assembly had some sand or sort of grit in it.. it sounds like your rubbing metal to metal which could be from the shock mount ring being worn out....but i fig i would throw my 2 cents in.....

We were driving through military housing and it started making a noise just like that, he got aggravated at noise and stomped it, he cut the wheel and boom the damn axle was in pieces. What an experience that was.

Wouldn't be a balljoint. That'd rattle on bumps. Check the tie rod, pitman arm, all the joints and boots and such. Grease 'em up if necessary. I don't know too much about the Macpherson strut, but I doubt this problem's related to the springs, it's definitely in the steering system.

If you're worried about any creaking noise in the chassis of the car, the first thing you should do is grab a tech manual and a torque wrench, and start torquing down everything to spec. I've fixed TONS of engine rattles by doing this.
