Guess your talking about a key? That im not sure.. we send most people back to the dealer for spare keys.. but I guess you could try Ebay.. have the key cut and program it to your car.. Im sure another tC peep will be able to tell you better than me.

The key has a built in rf emitter that is picked up by a reciever at the key cylinder. To remote start a car, the car needs to see that rf signal at the cylinder, so you have to mount a key in a remote bypass box and place an antenna ring around the key cylinder under the shroud in order to "trick" the car into thinking there is a key in the ignition for remote start. You would need a 556U, if you need one still I can sell you one for $35 shipped. I'm an MECP certified installer. Thanks.

Mine does. I don't have a spec though. Anyway the alarm button has nothing to do with a remote start.

This isn't secret information - anyone who has ever installed an alarm system knows all this already.

This isn't "how to bypass alarms" info this is remote start info. Anyone can go to Scion and get a key made, but it won't start any car until it is programmed into the cars computer.

That's why I have a camera mounted in the back seat that feeds video through the internet. If someone steals my car, I'm going to see everything they did and where they went before they broke the camera, or found the computer in the car.

True, the keyfob has an RF emitter, but the security is actually LF. The key cylinder actually powers up the LF coil and reads the data on it.

The 556u and 556uw are the same thing... the 556uw is the newer model of the two thou.. and it should come with an instruction manual from DEI.

Yes, it comes with the manual. There is no difference in the U vs. UW. The "w" stands for white box as opposed to a blister pack, which is what I have to offer.
