Ok, now he's saying my engine will 'IMplode'.

Now I'm just plain scared to start my engine... Why is everyone so brand loyal? Are these the same people that buy everything they see on tv commercials?
Use the brain god gave you.
Dump your stupid friend while you're at it.

Obviously, you need oil for your engine! I have heard time after time what oil is the best nad it's all a bunch of crap! The best way to find out if your oil is holding up between oil changes is to have it tested in a lab at the molecular level! For N/A engines, a good synthetic is going to be great as long as you use the recommended weight and change the oil at the regualr intervals. If you get a turbo for your car, you should contact the turbo manufacturer to determine what they feel is best for your application.

If you do a search online about oil, you can learn all you need to know about the weights and types of oils. Do your research and ask questions to those that work on cars professionaly.

Your friend's dad has probably been using Royal Purple for as long as it's been out and swears by it. That's no reason to praise it and say it's the only oil or best oil to use. Ditch your friends advise and do some research!

Oh I know. He's a cool cat. I've used several different types of oils. I have had good luck with Castrol so I buy that product. But my friends in my car club are a little younger and they think that a convincing argument is by raising their voice and yelling. 'Your car is crap and the products you use are crap.' It's one big ____ing contest.

I've learned to 'tune out' people when they get into their little rants and raves. People think I'm slow or day dreaming? No. I'm just tuning you out
