I have a girl here in my office and she said that price is about right. She used to work for Toyota. I didn't ask what it entailed but its a fair amount of stuff from what I understand.

I know my dealership wanted $280 for the 15000 mile check up.......which included oil change, checking radiator fluid, checking tranny fluid, checking battery and brakes, and a few other oddball things,I refused and they said I would void my warrenty. My debate to them was brakes are not a warrenty item, battery is not a warrenty item especially since I have an Optima,my radiator fluid is easy enough to check with a .99c checking tool from Auto zone........

so I asked them what it would cost to just to check the remaining items left on the check sheet and they said $210......I ended up just getting my oil changed and left.

for what they want to charge I can change the oil, tranny fluid, brake fluid, brakes, pads, radiator fluid,battery,sparkplugs.....ohh it goes on and on.

Basically you are paying for a $410 oil change......really if they find a issue with your brakes they area not gonna replace them for free.....they are gonna charge you for that too, same with battery, and anything else.

My dealer quoted me 210, I got them down to 190 when I asked for a discount, and then since I have a CAI and didn't need an air filter I ended up paying $138 for my 30k maintenance.

wow.. 30k is an oil change, air filter, rotate the tires and check stuff.. $130 sounds better.. but almost 400? they're dreaming!

for me...it was synthetic oil change and a tire rotation. i don't get any special check-ups on my tc, they usually give me a list of checks they have done on various things like fluids, brakes, tire tread depth etc, and reccommend things as needed, and i take a look at it and check my service records and either authorize it or decline. not exactly rocket science.

i just reach 66k. i did all my maintenance. its hella cheaper, if you know what youre doing. but other than that the best bet is to shop around stealerships. find the cheapest, even specials, coupons. good luck.
