and its not eactly the same cause now im supercharged and i ran the A/C the whole way and more or less kept the speed limit, as opposed to N/A and random A/C use last year and 95mph average.

I dint mean to threadjack here... but all the mpg and gas concerns kinda struck me yesterday... I saw a news report on a guy in north carolina who converted his 1981 volvo diesel to run on vegetable oil (diesels can do that with only a minor tune). thing is, when the state found out, they fined him $1000 for "avoiding state fuel taxes" and then another $2500 for him to get a fueling licsense.

teh tax man wants you no matter which way you go lol...

Mythbusters tried the acetone. It doesn't work, it actually hurts your gas mileage. I love that show

I just got 29.9mpg on an un-modded '07 five speed. I'd say about %80-85 city driving, too. Hardly any A/C, and some aggressive driving.

65-70mph. Sometimes I kick it up to 75-80mph when I'm bored.

But I'm rarely on the highway lately, mostly city. And I accelerate a little aggressively. By that I mean staying in second gear until 35, then third into 45, and fourth until 50-55.

Have you done any mods? Are you using the A/C 24/7? Or are you just a mad-crazy driver? That's a really low average for this kind of vehicle...

Whoops, I just realized you drive an auto as well. I know the EPA ratings say otherwise, but I really don't pay attention to them. The auto may even make it worse.

That's kinda odd, though... anything less than 20 on this car. I can understand averaging 23s and 24s, maybe even 22s. But wow, that's really low.

the auto should get better gas mileage due to the longer gears, its expecially noticable during highway speeds. i have a supercharged automatic.

if your getting that low mileage either something is wrong or its the way you drive or how you have to drive in your area.

the only downside to my mpg is i have about 10 stop signs to get to my house which is very annoying.
