I've gotten +30 MPG in my tC (by large majority, city driving), don't have any proof but hey, take it or leave it. :\

I agree. There are plently of people that have gotten 30+ mpg. I did it a few times when the car was stock. I averaged around 29 mpg because my drive to work was on city streets with well timed lights and averaging about 55-65 mph.

Even with the supercharger I average a consistant 26 mpg. Ive gotten as high as 28 at 80 mph on the highway. This is my last 3 fill ups.

Well, i just got back from cape cod a few weeks ago and on the way there my SCANGAUGEII said I averaged 37mpg with the AC on and off at points. I kept an average of 60-65mph on the way there. I averaged around the same on the way back (both off full tanks of gas and the scangauge reset for both). For the most part without travel, the scangauge says i average around 30-36mpg on the highway cruising for while to places at 60-65mph and in the city I only average around 25-28mpg at around 30-40mph. So far the scangauge's calculations are right on to what my calculations are telling me according to my gas and mileage gauge. So basically, im getting pretty good gas mileage on average, with regular gas.

Theoretically, and this is far from perfect science, it could be authentic.

He's sitting at a 1/4 tank left @ 318.8 miles (assuming) on the tank. Take the 318.8 miles and multiply it by 1.25 to get the projected miles remaining on the tank (rough, but estimate) and you get just under 400 miles total (398.5). Divide that by 14.5 (gallons in a full tank of gas) and you get the *rough* projection of the fuel economy of that tank. What does it say???

~27.48
I think it's safe to say that it's possible if you consciously drive slowly and don't use the A/C, remain on the interstates, etc...

Heck, according to my rough projection of what a full tank of gas driven in this manner on my stock tC (5-speed), I was @ 125 miles after the first quarter! So that means 125x4 = 500 miles, granted I was EXTREMELY conscious of the way I drove and weather allowed me to drive with no A/C for the whole tank (kinda hard in Florida, :\ ). You know what that means?

500 miles / 14.5 gallons = ~34.48
Nearly 35 MPG!

I can get about 29 MPG for the first half tank and then after then it drops down to about 25 or so. I have gotten 340 miles on a tank and that with easy driven around town. i usually get about 320 - 330 on a tank

when i mentioned my mileage last year on my trip to tulsa noone beleived me and wanted
pictures of the gauge, this year i went ahead and did that, still some think i'm lying,
whatever. I have no need to prove myself further to anyone here.

I get 36-38MPG Shell 91 octane (OK 33-35 but, I can make that with a lighter flywheel) on the highway at I-15 going down to SoCal. But I only do 55-60MPH using cruise control and watching the brake lights seriously while following a speeding 18 wheeler trailer which I guess helps and the annoying headwind noise is muffled nicely with the big rig.

And I get around 29-31MPG when going 85+MPH with 91octane. while in the city I only get 18-21MPG. (since I try to race Cobalt SS SC and SRT4s alot)

I got 30.4, 31.6, 32.1, and 29.7 on fillups between here and Las Vegas on the way to Scion VIP. I spent most of my time at 80 mph, but with stops I averaged 70 mph with the AC on the whole time. I was very happy with my mileage.

I feel you on that, I have to use premium on mine and paid 3.35 last fill up, and my car gets less than 300 per tank.

I average around 25-26mpg with the windows and sunroof open... almost never run the a/c unless I absolutely don't want to sweat (ie wearing long pants during the day... it is crazy hot down here now). the city driving is what kills my mileage... that and the fact that I just can't bring myself to creep along.

Highway with cruise is roughly 40-42 MPG but city/ highway mix i currently get about 28-30. It seems to change throughout the year.

I just came back from WV and averaged 41.62 MPG. I filled up in WV and again near my house.

As you can see here, i barely passed the "Full" tick mark and already had 90 miles on the trip.

Yeah, but like i said, my mileage varies a LOT!!! There are times when i only get 280 to a tank, but only when i'm haulin' as$ everywhere i go, and driving a lot of city stop n go. And the kind of gas makes a big difference to my car too. It's really odd, but when i use Sunoco gas, i get roughly 40- 50 miles per tank less than when i use BP gas?? I didn't know they were that different. But the best i ever got on Sunoco gas was 34 mpg, and on BP it is about 42 at best.
