I usually fill up at 1/4 tank. I always feel uncomfortable when it let it go below there. From Rochester to Northern NJ i can make it on one tank about. A little more because i've never seen the light come on. but its always less than 1/4 so somewhere in between there. And thats like 280 miles

i've filled my tank right when the light came on and got 13.5 gallons...the thing is once the nozzle clicks, you can still put in another 1.5 gallons if you take the time and fill it to the rim....and if you to this make sure you stop at exactly 1.5 or youll have gas runin down the side of your car

really not recomended to over fill past the click.even if it will fit it is not safe.older cars used to have a vapor lock tube on them and if you over filled the tank past the click it would come out the tube and you can end up with raw fuel on a hot exhaust.

^^ yup otherwise you damage your emissions system for the fuel tank! Instead of vapors beind captured it gets gasoline pushed into it!
