Damn old people are their quiet stereos and muffled mufflers!

I think it is great that this sport can be diverse for old and young. Think about when you get older. You will want to remain young at heart and still enjoy the things you love. Me I will be tuning cars for the rest of my life because it is what I love to do. I don't think there is an age cut off that tells you when you have to stop because your too old. So for all the older guys and gals out there, I give you mad props! Keep doing what you love and forget about how others may view you!!!!
You talkin' to me Josh?

I ride road bikes, 4 century rides, go-carts, I used to autocross, but I bet I've got you beat in the age department!

What he said, age IS a state of mind, think young be young, regardless of your age the only thing that stops you from achieving anything in life is located between your ears, not in the number of years you've been around ;)

I just think it's funny because the marketing is clearly designed for people under 30, hell even under 25. I just want to know what exactly intrigued them to buy the car.

I'm wondering if the tC reminds the 45-70 women back of those VW Beetle days??? And they are going through "Midlife Crisis" so owning a tC will bring back those youthful days???

I think of it, glass sunroof of the tCs are like the "Ragtop" Bugs. Well the ragtop wasn't made out of glass but same concept.

Today, I saw a older woman looking like in her 60's or 70's driving a '08 xB. It looked funny cause she was short and it seemed like she was jamming.

I bought mine on 12/30/04 - pretty much before any 'marketing' was even done. I was pretty much set on getting an Acura RSX Type S at the time, but then saw a picture of a tC, and thought it was a good looking car too. The Scion dealer was just up the street from the Acura place - so I stopped in and test drove a tC on the night of the 29th, thought about what I could do with the $6K I'd save by not getting the Acura, and went back and bought a tC the next day. Plus, nobody else had one at the time - RSXs were everywhere.
It had nothing to do with being old or young, marketing, or the whole Scion culture 'thing'. I just liked the car. I wasn't even aware of the Scion culture at the time (it was only about xBs then), but got into it soon after - started modding within a few weeks, dropped it like it was hot ( ). Haven't stopped since. I joined scioNRG, and yeah, I'm the oldest one in my group - but it doesn't bother me, and I don't think anybody else cares either. We're all into the same thing, so what does it matter?
I had a '68 Camaro SS when I was 'your age'. I painted it myself, built and swapped in a 427, etc. I sold that about 20 years ago, so I could buy a house, raise a family. I've always had bikes too - still have a Ninja ZX11, and two snowmobiles as well. I've just always been into 'internal combustion', in pretty much any form. Had the itch to start playin' with a car again, which could also be a daily driver and good on gas (I do almost 100 miles a day) - the tC fit the bill.
I go to as many shows as I can, as many team meets as I can, and every Scion event in the area. I was lucky enough to get sent to Miami, and to several other unbelievable Scion events - no other car company does for it's owners what this one does. I have Scion hats, shirts, boxers, and practically every swag item they've come out with. I have an x-mod tC and the Jada tC on top of my computer at work - my family and friends think I'm nuts.
So marketing had nothing to do with my initial purchase - but I'm totally wrapped up in it now. I don't think this would have happened if I bought the Acura - glad I didn't!
