Actually most of the people I know love them. I mean LOVE them. I have a friend that works at World Electronics. They are the team and Chris Rado drives for and he got to test drive the test mule Supercharged T/C and said it has gobs of torque and basically has to be underrated for power.

 

I told two of my friends that I was going the get a Scion tC. One of them told me that its a nice choice, especially because its a bargain. However, my other friend told me that its not too good. I'm not even sure if he really researched the car. He then went on to say that he was interested in getting a Dodge Magnum . Keep in mind we're both only 22. After he told me he was thinking about getting a family hatchback car at his age, his opinion did not matter.

 

I've gotten three distinct groups of reactions from my friends.

1. Those who do not follow cars at all . . . "what's a Scion and how do you spell it?"

2. Those who have moderate car interests . . . "you're getting that bread box?"

3. My richer friends . . . "I wouldn't be seen driving that", pretty shallow, huh.

However, after I show them the car, they always come away impressed!

 

I've found that more BMW, Mercedes, Porsche and Lexus drivers have been checking out my car than the people driving $17K-20K cars. Well, them and the people driving sport compacts. I haven't gotten a single negative comment yet.

 

If the tC looks like a saturn then the xA looks like a PT Cruiser... LOL!!!!!111

LOL ...the tc is a ugly car, and most people know this, on paper the car looked amazing, and in person it is just a thrown together mess.... I could not even think of that as my car...and i think the reason people in BMW, Benz stare at it, is because of the shape, it's just plain ugly..not because they think it nice....THEY are in the BMW YOUR in the TC....Sorry boys

 

It doesn't sound like you're trying to convince us anymore, it sounds like you're trying to convince yourself. Your future posts on the subject will be happily ignored. We're all so tired of it I'm sure none of us care what you think anymore.

Most people see my key and they are like "wow that's awesome! What do you drive?" Then I tell them and they get this look on their face. It's funny when people see it they say it's bad a$$, but just tell them a scion and they make a disgusted face.

 

Dont tell them you are getting a SCION. Everyone seems to think the xB is called the SCION. Tell them you are getting a 2AZFE powered coupe made in Japan by Toyota or just say tC.

I was quite amused by this one.

 

This must be why EVERY single news paper article and magazine review on the tC raves about the car, yet pokes fun at the xA and xB. Makes sense to me .. Also, how is it thrown together? I'd like a detailed technical explanation of this, if you'd like to see a car that was "thrown together" find one (in your driveway, I know it's there) that came with some awesome hubcaps and an engine making less than 110hp.

 

All the Scions have their good points. Personally, I love my tC. But I do envy the gas mileage the xA gets. And I'd love to have the space the xB has...sometimes.

I've seen some nice modified versions of both the xA and xB, and if I wanted to modify a car I would have probably gone that way. But my tC came out of "the BOX" with exactly what I wanted. It has just the right amount of styling and performance. And if I want to modify mine, there is enough stuff out there to break my checkbook.

So when I see those "ugh" looks on peoples faces, I know it's because they're looking at what they could've bought instead, the tC.

So let's try and take it easy on each other, and agree that we all own great cars. There's enough hate out there. I see it every day...

 

I first heard of the Scion brand in a marketing class last fall and my prof introduced the xB to the class as the Toyota Scion xB trim. I was confused until I did my own research.

 

Imagine what will be available a year from now!

 

I guess I should start saving now. A lot of the stuff I can do without. I'm not trying to compete with some neighborhood kid and his Civic, I just want to make it mine.

 

I could not possibly agree more. Someone's just a bit sad they didn't get one. I love mine and I haven't had not ONE negative comment either. I've had so many people come up to me in parking lots and other places asking what it is and checking it out.

Also, I didn't feel like starting a new thread for this but I saw my VERY FIRST other tC on the road today. I was coming home from the shore and I saw a white one traveling south on I-95 in PA/NJ. It was awesome!
