I think its mounted to the front of the radiator. If you look through the gap betwen bumper and radiator, to the passenger side (IIRC) there's a small little doo-hickey with a wire coming out of it. Not sure if it's a temp sensor for the e-fans to turn off n on, or maybe it's dual purpose because it does pick up engine heat a lot when sitting still or starting up after being off a little bit.

Okay, I looked back in the engine for what you were talking about, but I just remembered that in the directions it told me that it would be around the Air Filter or something.

I might as well give you the portion of directions that's confusing me...

Oh, by the way...i'm trying to install a power chip.

The two wired ATS sensor will be located on one of the following locations depending on make and model; the air intake tub, the air intake box and intake manifold under the throttle body . (I have an injen CAI, and the power chip manufacturer states that's not a problem)

So basically, none of that means nothing to a non-mechanically inclined person. The manufacturer also stated that installation takes no more then ten minutes and requires no tools or special knowledge.

Wow.

so you're adding a resistor thinking it'll add power...?

Well I don't know, i'm adding a "power" chip that apparently adds up to 35 hp.

I don't even know what the hell a resistor is.

sorry, I had the wrong Air temp sensor. You're talking about intake. First, this should be in Drivetrain and power. Second, if you paid, you've been had.

It's a long running thing that a Simple resistor (around $1.00 for a pack of em at Radio Shack) will change the readings of your IAT (intake air temperature) sensor so your engine thinks it's running cooler, therefore dumping in more fuel unnecessarily. After that, your engine learns that it's running rich, so it compensates, adjusting itself and making the "power Mod" useless.

Oh dear, I'm sorry that you bought into that, but if you found it on ebay, you just wasted your money. Cars now days are too smart for mere resistors, thats why there things like the unichip and all that good stuff (sorry if the name's wrong, brain fart moment).

And while we're on the topic of air temperature sensors, where IS the thermometer for outside air temperature (the one that tells how hot it is out).

..... omg... i'm sorry you wasted your money on a resistor that probably costs less than $.20...

the best you can do is cut your losses that throw that "chip" away.

well if you still wanted to know, the sensor in our cars is incorporated into the MAF. If you look at the MAF sensor, there are 5 wires going to it, 2 of them being the inlet air temperature sensor. personally i wouldnt play around with it, any mistake and you could be paying a lot more then you bargained for
