Who here takes their car in for the the 15k,30k,45k SERVICE?

I would also encourage anyone to speak with the Scion manager at what ever dealership you are having the service work done at. If one of my customers has some questions about service, I would like to be the first one to know about it.
Also, if you’re going to do any service work on your car, keep your receipts. This is your proof of maintenance. If for some strange reason you have a warranty issue that could be traced back to improper service, having receipts for the oil and filters you bought could be a big help. Just put them in an envelope and keep it in your glove box.

I've had mine serviced every 5k miles by a dealer and somehow magically didn't have to pay a thing until my 35k service . I just had my 45k service done and it only cost me $45. Glacier/Kalispell Scion has always treated me right and have gone above and beyond to accomodate me everytime. I think we've built a pretty good relationship and I'll continue to get my car serviced there. In fact, I tell everybody I know (Toyota ower or not) to get their car serviced there. The only complaint I have with them is that they no longer provide complementry car washes

The complimentary washes weren't as good as my personal washes, but I always feel better knowing that my car is clean. Plus, during the winter its good to get all of that crap that gets sprayed on the roads off your car.

I take my car in every 5k for oil changes. The dealership has this multi-point inspection they do with every oil change. That sheet lets me know which fluids are low or dirty. After that, I have them change out the dirty fluid or refill it. I talked to one of the service advisers and asked if I really had to do all of those maintenance services and she told me no. I only have to do oil changes and tire rotations. She said if they find any of the fluids needing service, they will let me know. The maintenance service packages are mainly oil change plus a lot of inspection. They don't really change anything. You are paying a lot of money for them to check your car.

I got RAPED by a dealer for my 30k service. I had just bought the car used and didn't know what the previous owner did/didn't do, so I brought it in for the service. Those fvckrs charged me 2.5 hrs for a glorified oil change! Not to mention less than a month later when I was having my exhaust installed my mechanic noticed my brake pads were REAL low (less than 1/8"). In the 30k maintenance the tech is SUPPOSED to check the wear on the brakes, but he obviously did not. I wonder what else they didn't do? Oh, I almost forgot, my bill was $350!!!!! Needless to say, I'm never taking my car there again!

Just a little fyi
As for me, I take my car there for oil changes and do the routine 15, 30, 45, etc maintenance. In the long run a couple hundred every couple of years really isn't that bad and it keeps the cars in good shape.
