Yeah power shifting is where you don't take your foot of f of the gas. I don't recommend it, especially for tC still under warrenty, but It was sunny. roads were dry and i got an itch

i raced an rsx type s just in a third gear punch. I pulled in front by half a car and stayed there til the top of third and that was it...nothing mvoed but this was the older rsx thpe s and i did have the dc headers on. he had a short ram intake and we talked afterward. he is a friend of mine and was in schock himself. he keeps trying to call me out and race me again but i told him only at the track where time slips will prove it. anyways i would't call bs so soon utnil a personal experience.

It's pointless to talk about speed alone when comparing cars by price. Why not buy a 1970 Charger, spend $15k on it and smoke Enzos left and right? The Enzo is going to cost you hundreds of thousands of dollars more, if you can even get one. So there we go, buy Chargers, no one wants a Ferrari.

Kind of a silly comparison, but this is the same thing. The RSX-S is not meant to be FAST. End of discussion. It is supposed to be a precisely engineered performance oriented car that is one of the best values in its class. Even if you can get a tC to go as fast as an RSX-S for less money, you still do not get the refinement and precision of the Acura. You can make a car go as fast and handle as well as an exotic for $50k, so what is the justification in price for an exotic? Sure they look better and are easily a status symbol, but is that all? If cars can perform just as well for less money, then why are exotics so appealing? One reason: the feeling of driving one. You might have a tC that can pull off impressive numbers, but that's all they are, numbers. At the end of the day you are still driving a $16k Toyota. The overall package does not give you the same refined feeling and the same harmony of all the parts working together. It's that simple.

RSX-S vs tC is not nearly as bad of a comparison as exotic vs *, but you get the idea. The tC will always lack the feeling of the RSX-S simply because it is not in the same class of car. Now, in it's own class, that's where it shines and that's where the discussion should be.

damn i'm tired of these "vs" threads. i did like what dmikon had to say though. i remember reading the post asking how old the tC owners are. after seeing all these posts about who can beat what and what is better, i could've guessed the majority lol.

Although, you do have to admit it is refreshing to see something other than 'TEH TC PWONS ALL!!!!!" in these posts.
