I was on the sciontcclub forum and i read that Celica springs / coilovers will fit a tc, is that true and if so how much modification has to be done for them to fit right

There's a post from a guy with 19s and the Skunk2 Celica springs on a tC in the Photo Booth.

Apparently they "kind of" fit. I wouldn't do it, nor do I recommend any body try it unless they realize they're risking their own safety as well as risking damage to the car.

while i believe it is true that they pulled the suspension out of the GTS for the tC, i don't think the parts would be a direct fit and i wouldn't recommend it. you've got 2 different cars that sit, handle, ride, weigh etc... different. they might be the similar factory parts but each is going to be adjusted differently. so don't try it, unless it's proven to be ok.

These are the main things I would look at. The Celica GT-S weighs 2500Lbs. So the springs are made for this weight. The tC weighs 2900Lbs. I think its only a fluke that the springs happen to be the same size, I would not suggest this & to any one who does do this dont go trying to sue toyota/scion for something that happens to you, because of doing this.

I don't believe that's true at all. Althought the brakes are from the Celica GT-S, the suspension is from the Avensis. They may share some similarities or even parts, but they're not the same.

actually by what you said you just proved several of us on here right. they do share similarities or possibly even parts, and hence should not be slapped into another car without proper research. and isn't it quite possible that the Avensis has a celica suspension? spdlmtNA thanks for the post, it's been a while since training so it might in fact just be the double wishbone rear suspension that came from the celica.

How about brake pads? I have new celica gt brake pads, they're original toyota pads so I'd hate to toss them out. Will it fit my tc?

The Celica brake pads will definatley fit the tC. I went to AutoZone to get bake pads and all the model numbers for the tC are identicle to those of the Celica so... dont through them away, use them!
