Default Window Tint Fine Question *Update pg2 found legal info*(PA)

Hey its 2am just got in from being pulled over for window tint to dark.....I know its illegal but i also though in PA you cannot be pulled over just for tint alone? becuase its a non-stop offense aka they just cant pull you over for tint.....

Am i wrong? should i fight this they gave me 5 days to take the tint off or take the 108 dollar fine....Not looking to take my tint off considering it was a nice little penny

it happend to me too a few months back and it cost me 30 bucks to get the tint taken off and i had to pay the paper processing fee at the court and all the extra gas spent going to the tint place then to the police station and back to the court.in all it was around 70 bucks i would have rather just have taken the ticket and still be rocken the tint. just be more aware when cops are present to roll downt the windows. the cop just pulled up next to me to see the tint then instantly pulled me over.

it was a black undercover at 2am i didnt even take notice it was a cop until i say it make a u turn to come follow me....i rolled down both my windows and he walked up saying to put them up and he had this meter and it read 17% and said it had to read 70%

i didnt think you could just be pulled over for tint, i thought something esle had to be wrong then they could cite you for tint....

wow.. if its 70% thats like no tint at all.... i got pulled over for 22% but we have a 35% law here... but the cop never showed up so i got off the hook, and also the guy that put my tint on got scared i was going to sue him so he took it off, reapplied it with a lighter tint after i got back from my court trial. but yes they can pull u over for any violation.. recently i got pulled over for no front licenses plate...

there are drug dealers in the house next door, some mexicans down the road that drive around with 9 people in a 2 door civic and im pretty sure they all share a social and bastards around here pull you over on the way home from advanced auto where you just bought a headlight to replace your dead one and ticket you for it.

one time my friend got pulled over for an illegal u-turn and he said "you guys know that theres a coke house like 2 blocks away right?" their reply was "we are too busy giving tickets for illegal u-turns to deal with that" sounds like the pork needs to set their priorities straight.

wtf is their problem, im sure there is something worse we could do than modify our cars, like run around stealing crap. for years this crap has boggled my mind.

I'd be suprised to see that work, at least here in CA. I had it happen on my old car and you have to have it either completely removed or toned down to the legal amount and then find an on-duty cop to sign the ticket, then show up to traffic court and pay $10.

lol the meter is supposed to read 70% meaning 70% of the light has to pass through the window. $100 thats nothing, last year the max fine for tint went up to like $500 PER window. JERKS. and i dont think they can pull you over for tint. ya gotta do something first.

I don't see why you can't be pulled over, unless there are some weird state laws.

If you were driving with it you are breaking the law, another thing if you car was parked (obviously not moving), I see it the same as running a loud exhaust, or even a broken tail-light. Not something they can ticket you for if you aren't driving around, but if you are, then I don't see why they can't.

Yeah, the law in PA is 70%, which means no tint. Only factory.

And cops can pull you over for whatever, including tint in PA.

Used to live there. Just pay up and be on your way. Cops are lame in that state and have no life.

Cops are able to pull you over for any reason they want........around here they will pull you over to talk to you .............. guess they get lonely.........lately here in Washington they are out in packs.........on the way to work today they had like 20 cars pulled over in a 40 mile stretch of road...........very busy they are...........
