I just found some of this information due to a member on here that will def help me fight this in court

http://www.berksweb.com/users/dmv/tint/meters.html

due to the officer pulled me over soley on tints alone without permission to test my windows or without a warrent there was no probable cause...Also the meters are not even approved and will not be admissable in court also there is no statue in PA banning tint below 70%

http://www.tintdude.com/laws.html

did u roll ur window up when he told u to so he can test ur tint? cause once u rolled ur window up after him asking u, that gives him the permission to test it cause u acknowledged that u rolled up ur window solely so he can test it and u agreed to it by doing so...

OHIO has a 50% law, I've been pulled over for it (tint) 1 time in 20+ years of driving with tint. I was suppose to pay a fine (which I did) and have the tint removed. Take the vehicle back out to the State Highway Patrol for inspection (which I DID NOT DO). Drove the car another 5 years before selling it, and was never stoipped after that time. MAybe the cop was having a bad dad.................

...by PennDOT. So, I guess the LEGAL TINT %-tage in PA is 70?

yup, cops have every right to stop u for any violation. since your legal tint % is 70%, its pretty obvious ur violating something when its dark. its very noticable at night when u have a clear window compare to a tinted window. u could use ur argument up there but really, the officer only needs to say that u have tint on and its illegal according to pennDOT, ur pretty much stuck...

........... dude if they're tinted by a guy who has a license, go get it removed or sue him for ur money back. if he knew what he was doing, he wouldnt tint ur glass illegally, how else would he have a license. and if he gave u a fix it ticket, fix it, or take the ticket. u have a really low chance in winning this court case. its stated if u google PA tint laws, they're all at 70%. so if u plan to use online stuff, all they gotta do is use google saying if u like to use online evidence, they can use it against u as well

IF... IF you fight it, dont do it alone. get a lawyer. but also dkfung, when my brother got his 5% tints he signed a legal doc saying that he is fully aware of the law an they will not be held responsible.

it really depends if he did sign it or not... for mine, he specifically said he wont tint illegally, but it just so happens the tint plus the film he put onto the glass added up to 22%... but i agree with thumper, dont go alone if u do go to court

from what i'm getting out of this:

A) the tint is definitely illegal and the cop has every right to pull you over and cite you for it. PA is a no-tint state. If it is not factory, it is illegal. no ifs, ands, or buts about it.
B) either way, fighting it in court with the cop won't do anything because he stands correct in this situation.
C) you probably just forgot, but you probably did in fact sign a consent form at the place that tinted your windows stating you acknowledge that the tint they installed is illegal and they're not responsible for anything.

i got both of my tCs tinted illegally in PA at two separate places and i had to sign consent forms for each time.
