My dad's car was the first manual I drove...an 02 Mazda Protege5. I remember sitting at a stoplight after only having driven it for a week (this was when I still had my permit) and thought it was in first and it kept stalling and stalling and stalling. All these cars were stacking up behind me, and my dad reaches over and puts it in first...apparently I was too noobish to distinguish 1st and 3rd.
The first time I stalled it out, the 2nd time I managed to actually take off in 3rd, LOL. Poor clutch

This topic has been discussed multiple times..But it doenst hurt the trans as much as people says it does..that is if you dont make it an all the time habit...engine breaking by shifting to 3 is nice like for highway situations and such. But for city driviing just leave it in D. but yeah search next time its been discussed..

don't be dumb. if you want to drive it like a manual, you should have gotten a manual in the first place.
