Default Would this hurt my tC break-in

When I test drove my tC I accidently banged it off the rev limiter. I had an RSX Type-S before so I am used to 8200 rpms. Anyway I am curious if you think this had any effect on the car since it was obviously not broken in yet? Personally I don't think it would have hurt anything. Maybe even helped seat the piston rings some.

I don't think it would hurt. I've run my car hard since I got it (with 8 miles on the odometer.) After 100 miles with a number of full throttle runs up to redline in 2nd and 3rd, I think the engine was as broken in as it's going to get. I didn't hit the rev limiter initially, but now I've done it a few times in 2nd and maybe once in 3rd. I'm over 1000 now and the engine feels great. I plan on changing the oil at about 4000 miles.

once is not that bad, but I would try to avoid doing it again. In fact some recommend reving it up once real good to break it in, I am not so sure about that. I dont think you broke anything though.

i wouldnt worry about revving it up 1 time. I did a burnout in my tc at about 430 miles....

the owners manual flat out says "requires no elaborate break in"
