Default WTF!!!!!!! BROKEN SEAT! ... UPDATED!!!

So tonight my girlfriend and I went on a double date, and I drove... I went to go pull up the little lever on the side that raises the seat forward so my friend could get in the back.. and well SNAP!.... the cable inside the seat broke.. and well.. my seat doesnt stay in place.. the slider works.. but the recliner is broken.. it just flops back and forth.. AHHHH.. off to the dealership tomorrow morning... SIGH!... it was such a good night.. oh well warranty should cover it.. just thought i would share.. and to see if anyone else had same problem.

I doubt they will. I think I heard of one other person with a
seat that busted the same way.

Honestly, anything with moving parts runs the risk of something
failing.

No big deal, just drive carefully on the way to the dealership,
and hopefully they have a seat in stock and can swap you out!

your lucky if you dont have SAB. If you did that "snap" would'v made a "BOOM" on your dating gear. Because if im not mistakin the bags do come out of the sides of the seat !!

that happened to mine too!
the seat recliner wouldnt lock into place. I moved it around a bit
and it went back to normal. I guess all's well that ends well huh?

Any bag that comes out for that reason is completely defective and dangerous. I beleive the bags come out of the pillars on the tC though. dont have the SAB so I am not sure. But either way the bags should NEVER come out short of a pretty hard impact to the vehicle.

If I recall correctly the SAB in the tC are in the seats...and the airbag sensor is based on change of velocity not a sudden boom...

will since he was tilting the seat forward, there couldn't have been anyone sitting in it. And without someone sitting in the seat and triggering the pressure sensor, the seat airbags shouldn't go off.

Anyhow, glad you got your car fixed.

tC has side curtain in the pillars front and back and air bag in the side of the seats. had to wait on the seat covers in the ssm because they had to test their slit with the air bags deploying (sounds like a fun job) ;)
