Brake Question
Ok this is going to sound odd, but as I was driving today I happened to look over there was an older Lexus LS next to me, I found myself staring at the front calipers marveling at the sheer size of the calipers! Feeling a little envious and a little ashamed that I was now jealous of the breaking system of a 10+ year old car I composed myself and drove off.
However the question that has been buring a hole in my brain is this: Is there another Toyota/Lexus that shares our braking system that has better/larger calipers that could be retrofitted to the tC without a ton of work? I looked @ Rotora, Baer, Stoptech, Wilwood, etc. and do not belive I would ever be in a position to spend that much on a baking system for my tC. This being said I I could buy a set of hubs from a wrecking yard, and can rebuild the calipers, but am at a loss as where to begin. I know this is a shot in the dark, but I am poor and do my own work, but that dosn't mean my car has to look like it. Any help is appreciated...

dont be cheap when it comes to your saftey. They do look nice but a tru BBK will be your best bet. Save your money for it and do it the right way. I wouldnt trust it when getting it from a junk yard. Especially something like this.

I've done it tons of times for my friends Hondas, like doing the read disc conversion from the Integra to the civic and, and the 5-lug conversions as well. Not trying to be cheap my bosses are! I got a mortgage and a wife, I trust my work, but I know I will never have 2-3K to put into brakes let alone the car in general...

You will gain little to nothing on this car with a larger disc. That is why it didnt come with them. The cars weight, distribution, etc are all figured into that. Simply having larger brakes means nothing if you cant keep the wheels from sliding. The tC's brakes are actually great stock as far as stopping power. Looks arent everything you know

I agree that the brakes stock are more than adequte for daily use but i do autox occasionally and i am just looking to do more than upgrade my pads and rotors. Maybe i will start w/ this but I just was wondering if anyone had thought about this, or even considered looking into this, I just hate to go buy something that took me little or no work to figure out...
