Brakes
So it's that time for me. My front pads are shot. i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on brakes? I was mainly wondering about EBC brakes i found some that are pretty cheap. Now i was wondering if they were cheap because they're garbage or what? any feed back is greatly appreciated. Also suggestions would be awesome too.

EBC makes some great products. So does Hawk and Axxis. You just need to ask yourself what type of driving are you going to be doing. Pads operate at difference temperature ranges.
So let us know if you are a daily driver or full out racer or somewhere in the middle.

they do have the Scion tC pads, because our brakes came from the Celica GT or GTS.

Axxis are hella dusty, i had the rears on for a few weeks and nothing but dust, i had EBC Redstuff up front and there was virtually no dust.
i'd go with EBC Greenstuff for just replacing the stock stuff. i am running Redstuff all over now and love them. i had Greenstuff on my last ride and was also satisfied.

i was looking at these ones http://www.car-stuff.com/carparts/sc...ud8171367.html
Greens were recomended for cars with 200 Brake HP and i don't think my car has 200 brake. unless 151WHP is about 200.

I had about the same amount of dust with the oem tC pads as I did with the porterfields. So I don't think that's a lot at all.
If you do go with the porterfield's, r4-s compound of course (street compound), The carbon-kevlar transfers from the pad to the rotor/disc, just takes about a week or so to break in (bed-in). I found with the performance pads, it REALLY makes a difference to bed-in the pads properly. I just drove normally, didn't panic stop, then in about a week, i could feel there was less brake pedal input and more stopping power, hardly had to hit the brake pedal.
might want to call Porterfield and find out how much the pads are, I don't know.. Someone else had a post here about the porterfields, you could do a search, had pics too. hope that helps.
UPDATE:
Okay did a search, here's the link
