Tc is a sports car? I thought it was FWD?

anywho... My re50's chopped like crazy in the last 2/32's and that was with spot on pressure and alignment. it was the reinforcement in the tire.

The same happened to the V12 evo's that everyone on discount raves about... ick stay away!

The ride was really bumpy with every 3rd block cut. Tire can cause bad ride. not sure how a sway bar would be bumpy but I guess...

FWD has nothing to do with sports car, neither does the fact that a Mazda 3 may or may not be stiffer stock.

FWD does not really = a sports car. especially one with a open diff.

just found it odd that someone would say a "is this your first "sports" car."

It is def. sporty, never said fast or great in its stock form, but def. sportier than a lot of cars.

The tC is marketed as a SPORTY coupe, or a Sport Compact. There is no getting away from it. Calling it a SPORTS car alone is a stretch but sports car can be in the eye of the beholder.

iv noticed a change in comfort on the shocks when the weather is cold. im using F&F coilovers. when its warm/hot the ride is a lot smoother.

to get a less bumpy ride you would need to get something like active suspension or something.

my friends E320 benz was super smooth.

uneven road will be bumpy no matter what. you can get higher profile tires for extra "meat" and springier springs...

The TRD shocks are also very stiff to begin with.. they have very little travel. About half that of stock shocks.

And like coolwaterz said... cold weather is no bueno for any suspension other than stock.

I rode on TRD shocks / stechs for 5 years, and had to switch because i couldn't take the harsh ride of that setup anymore. the only cushion was in my seat.

Wow. You guys are soft!
I daily drive on Koni yellows with 400/700 straight rate coils & don't mind it!

By the way, nobody noticed "sports" was in "quotes"...

However, the way it sits, my tC should pull about a g on summer tires, and I regularly beat "sports" cars at autocross.

If the tC is too stiff, the new Camry looks nice...

I'm guessing when you are saying "bumpy" you mean "rough". Now the struts and springs are the main thing that stop you from feeling every bump in the road. In a average car the struts and springs are made to have more play in them making them "soft" or "softer". Now in sport cars the struts and springs are made to have less play making them "hard" or "harder". The main performance difference is that when you turn your car the "hard" struts and springs cause the car not to lift as much, making you able to turn a corner faster. However, with a harder setup the ride will become more rough making you to feel every bump much more. If you want a less bumpy ride get a softer setup or a new car.

tire size may affect your ride quality, too much rim and too little tire = crappy ride.
