my FF type2 came in today. looks nice. heavier then i expected..

i got a few questions on the setup
i should just leave the preset springs alone and just shorten or extend the body of the coilovers?

its pretty much hit and miss on how low i can go right since the weight of the car is different to others?

The springrates should be preset, I would only lower by adjusting the body to avoid fudging them up.

yeah fronts lower about the same as s-techs but the rears you can dump but then it will look dumb with rear tucking and the front kinda (high as some on here like to say)...

you can slam it on FF2s or any other type of coilovers if you remove the collars and compress the springs a lot but then it will ride like crap, instead of spending about 1k or more for coils to slam it and ride like crap. you might as well buy the racelands/rokkors (however you spell that brand) and just save yourself the extra money to replace the parts that will wear out quickly from being slammed

ok i know the camber will be off when i install these. should i get a alignment right after? i heard people waiting about a week for the springs to settle before the alignment.

so i should just eyeball the wheel and get it done later?

also anyone able to take car with coilovers to firestone for a alignment with success?

As long as the place has an inground alignment rack there should not be any problems if you have your car low. I did my alignment the very next day after install. I went for Firestone's lifetime alignment and this week got a flyer wanting me to go to get the alignment checked(been 4 months since original alignment).

they did it anyways even if you have aftermarket parts or lowered your car?

i guess i need to change places cuz the one im going to is shady.

Seems he was surprised that I ran with an adjustable coilover setup, seems he's worked on some that had just cut springs or whatever. Also liked that adjustments are easy to do on the tC. It's on the person you talk to, but places like Firestone, NTB, like retail type shops are to only set things back to within OEM specs, it's all for liability reasons. If you want custom you might have to find out who would be nice enough to do that for you or might have to make a trip to a custom/specialty shop. If what the answers to your questions aren't what you're expecting then find somewhere else. I might have to make a couple of hour drive for fender work later whenever I get my wheels, found a shop that does alignments, tire stretching and fender rolling, all in one place.

i ran into some problems while installing the coilovers.

its too low. and from the looks of it i have to take it out to raise it???

The fronts no, but for the rear it seems to be that way. Reason why I held out for the coilovers I have now(B&G RS2), is the design/setup. Max low and preloaded I'm just tucking the tread for the rear and have no plans to raise it from there. If I wanted to I would have to take them out for raising, but for me to go lower where it is now, no.

crap i dont feel like doing all that work to take out the back again...
its just a little too low for me. tire is tucked inside. probably need to raise it by an inch.

im glad to hear about the front though.

i only had time to install the back...which was a pain just to get to the top bolts. i need to raise it up maybe half an inch or 3/4th

they really smooth when i back into my driveway.
cant wait to get the fronts on.

Oh they didn't know? The tC is a 2 seater, the back seats, well they're just for decoration, to be admired from afar.

this was actually the lowest it would go in the back. but springs where not compressed at all. just my the recommended 5mm.

would probably get another 1" drop off it until ride starts to get crappy.
