Default COILOVER NIGHTMARE FROM HELL! HELP!

Alright so today i decided to slam my tc. They are riding on tein basics. I fully dumped the front coilovers to its lowest settings. No problems at all.

NOW HERE IS THE PROBLEM!!!!

My friend and i head towards the back suspension. We take the wheels off, jack it up, everything under normal procedures.

We try to turn the adjustment ***** on the coilovers but they wont F'n budge! not at all! we try for 1 hour plus and no success. FAILURE!! BOTH SIDES ARE LIKE THAT. they do not want to move.

So i head back home and decide to take the rear coilvers out of the car and decide i should use a spring compressor to maybe take some force from the *****. Guess what?! The spring compressors do not even fit! Terrible, terrible , terrible. I then try to take off the stock mounts and the top screw does not want to come off. Both the screw and the nut were moving together. ____ wont come off, so im basically screwed
(no pun intended)

My friend is coming back next weekend and im planning to take an impact wrench to the top mounts to remove the screws.

So right now im pretty screwed. My front is slammed and the rear is high as *bleep!*

Gameover.

PLEASE HELP IF YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO.

wow...sounds pretty bad man, but i had a camber issue so i took it to a good shop and now i know where to go..

do yourself a favor and get yourself to a good suspension shop that can help you out and find one that is not going to screw you over.

p.s. could you PM me about whether you like your Tein Basic's or not?

are you talking abotu the rings to adjust height? it sounded like you wanted to adjust dampening.

anyways the lock rings are a b!tch in general.

you have to lube them up really well.

also your story doesnt really make any sense....

yeah...i dont think my tein basics came with the lube.

My friends and i tried soo damn hard with the wrenches that came with coilovers to move them. No luck at all.

Is it always this hard to lower coilover height>?

not at all, sounds like you didn't read the directions and probably ceased up the collars.

Sounds like you might have cross threaded the collars. I have never see that before. Can you post a pic of what you are seeing?

You have to loosen the locking ring before you can lower the spring. Those rings should move freely with no binding.

i had the same issue last spring but it happend with all four wheels. my friend that helped me used his feet to push rather than his hands. put both of the tools on each coil in the direction they are supposed to go and then you hold one end as the other one uses the foot strengh to move it.

i had this exact problem. use a pipe and fit it over the handle part of the wrench and try it that way, u should be able to apply alot more force that way. but be careful. im just telling u what i did not telling u to go do it. i assume that u kinda know what ur doing also.

I have the the Tein SSPs and I adjusted mine very easily. Just incase you do know you have to move the top ring to the right and the bottom to the left so they go away from eachother right? That loosens them.

Hey guys. Thanks for the advice. Today was my third time trying to adjust my coilovers. i had no luck. my friend tried pushing with his feet the other day too. But its just too damn cramp in the back to doing any pushing. He even used a rope tied to the wrenches to have more leverage. No luck.

So i guess my last resort is to go to a shop and have them take an impact wrench to the upper mount and take some force from the spring itself. If a shop cant do it, i will throw these tein basics into a river.

there was no lube included with teins...

my ss+p's are easily adjusted, his basics are IMPOSSIBLE to adjust, i think the lock collars(lock rings) may have been cross threaded!!

first time i have seen this kinda problem, its really hard to explain whats goin on..

Look around the lock collar, SOME have little allen screws on the sides to adjust the pressure. If it does just loosen that up. If not then go buy some WD-40 spray and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Get the a wrench on the bottom one and get some good hits with a mallet, not a hammer, a mallet. If both rings move then they are stuck together and you need to get both wrenches on there try and get them unstuck.

Good luck though, IF you did crossthred them you will be in a world of mess.
