actually nobody has said it cant be done, were just advising you that its not a good idea. you can do whatever you like, but dont blame us for trying to save a fellow SL member from danger...or potentially being laughed at more

well you can laugh at me more if you would like. I just like how everyone has a friend that had done this that has killed them self. I have done this before and I never lost control of they cars. I have hit anyone and I have had a bounce drive. I dont just cut the springs and put them on stock struts. I have yet to see one person right
Don't do it cause this happened to me when I did it "

I have actually cut springs on a older car once.it was ok......ride was fine but one side ended up lower due to the spring rubbing through the mount after 4 months and causing my whole rear end to crash down on my tires giving me a flat......it was a bad experiance all around...perhaps yours will be better.

yea, it hasnt happened yet...which doesnt mean it cant happen.

in the event you have to swerve to avoid an accident, you might not end up so lucky.

that can happen with stock suspensions and moddifired suspensions. That comes down to knowing your car and know how to handle it. with my over 500k miles of driving in the last 10 year I have yet to lose control of any car.

Dont know what to tell you... you are one out of an enormous majority. My alignment guy agrees with me.. so does everyone I know that autox's (I will go with a good number of nationals contenders opinions on suspension any day) and most on the forums who run the same. -1.5 did not do that to your tires alone. My rears have been at -2 for almost 3 years now.. my fronts at -1.76 (about -1 before that) for about a year... tire wear is normal. I have a very hard time believing your toe was set correct looking at those tires.

You dont hear a lot of people saying not to bash their head repeatedly with a hammer because this happened to me either.... because most know not to do it to begin with.

I am not saying you are going to have some massive wreck due to it.. I am just advising that the car will handle worse for it. And if you really push it.. it can become very unmanageable. There is no "correct" way to cut down springs.

Like I said, I am not trying to bash you.. just trying to give you some good advice. It s up to you in the long run. You are set on doing it to begin with, so the thread really isnt of much use.

Uh... ya. I think we all get the picture on this one.

Cutting springs FTL. If you want to do it, go ahead... but don't come here whining if it doesn't turn out as incredibly as you want to believe.
