cutting springs

99% people on here will say no, because a used a spring would cost u around $100. It is not worth the risk to cut the spring. ( i got my TRD spring new for $100)
because stock spring are not made to be cut , the spring rate would get mess up.
i only saw 1 person cutted his spring on SL, it was for a xb i think.

I really don't understand the idea of cutting your springs. Why not spend the small amount of money to get a proper set?
Not only are you ruining the properties of the springs (spring rate, height, etc) but you're also ruining your handling.

its not worth the effort and time to do it, just buy some Ebays and rent a spring compressor for like 60bucks, and when youre done you get that money back anyways, its worth it for the piece of mind

cutting springs is waht guys did in the 50s.........1950s........this is 2009.......find a drop height you want and go buy a set of springs.......most of the guys back in the day who cut springs paid for it in their car going to junk yard when they wrecked it......IBTL

Hello, and welcome to 2009! We've made several suspension advances. There are now aftermarket springs AND coilovers that can lower your vehicle! This provides a better ride than the old fashioned spring cutting, and is much safer. We highly recommend checking them out!
Have fun and be safe!

oh yeah thats a different story the look of the xb2 was insane but thats sumthing i would never be caught doing, safety is a huge issue with that. especially in roads that are horrible.

you can find used springs for cheap (less than $100), especially in socal. hit up craigslist and search the SL classifieds.
