has anyone ever found out if the strut brace is effective? cuz ive seen comments on other threads sayin a front strut brace is useless cuz the strut tops are connected to the firewall which adds rigidity .. im still deciding if i wanna spend the $ on a part that could be useless ... that DC strut tower looks hot ... and its fairly cheap .. im considerin gettin that ... SOO many things ... SO little money ... dammit

I insalled one on my Box, a few weeks after I got the car.

I noticed a small improvement. The car feels more planted, and stable in a turn. I feel it's worth it. Plus some eye candy for the engine bay.

I paid less than $100 for it. For that price, why not?

Just installed it today and it raining outside. So I have a report as soon as it is dry out. By the way the instructions were not very accurate. They quoted a 10mm bolt was holding the struts in place when in fact it is a 14mm bolt. They also say that you have to raise the car in order to drop the strut studs out of the way in order to bolt it on, but I found that if you cut a little bit of the lip under the wiper cowl you can get it off & on while still on the ground.

hey does anyone know any advantages of having a Hotchkis front swaybar and having a strut brace (ie DC Sports strut bar) .. ? does it make the front suspension much better? or should you go one or the other and not both?

The 14mm bolt thing annoyed me... regardless about the cutting of the lip.
I was going to do that but I ended up raising the drivers side of the car. the passenger is no problem whatsoever. Where you able to properly torque down the back bolt without using a jack? That was my main concern.

I just bought mine off ebay. It'll arrive tomorrow and hopefully ill put it on this weekend. It looks damn good! Im also working on a solution to the gaping hole where my 1din HU is sitting. Probably going to take some polished aluminum and cut it/rig it to fit where the gap is and eventually used the extra space for various buttons *****, etc.

i ordered the DC strut bar which i am told will arrive in 2-3 weeks, and i ordered the hotchkis sway bars which i will have by the end of next week and installed prob. next week too. I will post a review once i get my sway and strut bar on to see if both of them together make a difference or if just the sway bars do the job.

hey john, i know this is a lot to ask but can you wait 4 weeks to put on your sway bars? i know the sways will make a noticable difference. So im asking you to put on just the strut bar, to see if you notice any improvement. again i know its a lot to ask, especially since the sways are coming in this week.
