Default Dealership Fixed The Control Arm, Wheel Hub and bearings but now new problem???

got the ride back and everything was fine til i had to brake a little hard. all i hear is this loud ___ high pitched kind of grind/squeal type like its the brakes or something. but when i make a complete stop it still makes this noise as if im still driving. or if i am driving the noise would come out of nowhere and be mad loud like some spinning motion. dont know what the hell it is but im taking my car back to the dealership tomorrow and be like what the hell did you guys do cause that was not there before. anybody ever have this problem before or know what it sounds like??

Below is what I got fixed....

I think its my axel or something along those lines. On the passenger side all I hear is creaking like something is rusted everytime i accel from a stop. sometimes making a turn i will hear a loud click. now i heard that the creaking noise is probably the struts that would need to be greased up but im just tryin to make sure this would all be covered under warranty because im not able to pay anything yet due to i havent gotten any paychecks yet from workers comp. does lowering the springs void anything along the lines of axels or greasing up the struts or whatever??

thanks in advance

First you need to figure out what the actual problem is. And the only way to do that is to have someone look at it.

About the warranty... nothing "voids" your warranty (unless explicitly stated). The only way the repair would not be covered under warranty is if they can PROVE that your lowering springs caused the problem. That's why I say you need to know what the problem is - without that part, there's no way to know if it wouldn't be covered.

Some dealers are easier to work with than others in these situations. Best thing you can do is just take it in, explain what the problem is and only what the problem is. Don't bother mentioning the springs or anything because unless they can prove otherwise, they shouldn't be relevant. Hopefully they'll work with you can get it fixed up - but you need to take it in for them to figure it out.

iight thanks man, only thing that sucks is they usually charge $100 to find out what the problem is and if it wasnt covered under warranty then they charge me the $100 just for looking at it. thats why i dont wanna bring it to them yet but ill figure somethin out

I wouldn't ever recommend this.

Not only is it lying to the dealer and possibly preventing them from finding the true cause (sometimes)... but you may be making it harder for future modders to get warranty services. Some dealers are already ****** about it... don't want to make it any worse down the road if they find out you're lying to them.

^^ that is true. if you afraid this problem will ever happen again than the answer is simply don't mod. Modding is at your own risk.

Check and make sure that the locking nuts on the top of your spring/shock tower are not loose. I know that with tc's this is a common issue after we have springs or shocks done, the shops tend to re-use the locking nut and if its not tightened properly you will hear a loud pop/click sound under weight transfer.

gotcha i really cant check it though cause im on workers comp from shoulder surgery so if im workin on my car and they see me im screwed. i made an appointment tomorrow to get it in to have it looked at and they told me everything would be under warranty as far as axles n all that go. so ill find out if they try to say anything about the springs. but im done modding that was years ago. i sold everything from the turbo kit to interior. all i got left is the springs on and my ex has possession of my stock springs but theres no chance in getting that lol

alright the other problem they found was the lower control arm. they said that they have almost 2 inches of play on it moving it around easily and said it aint safe to drive at all. unfortunatly they said that part isnt covered under warranty. so now i gotta pay $500+ but what the hell makes a control arm go bad like that??

they could have bent the dust shield behind the brake rotors/discs and that could be rubbing. Or they didn't lube up the sliding pins and the brake calipers are sticking.. just a couple thoughts. let us know what they find, and yeah should be free not the old excuse of "nothing is wrong" joke.

I don't know bout any of you but every time I have to brake hard I hear this kinda boing sound! The sound is kinda like the sound a thick rubberband might make if you have it pulled tight and then pull the band back and let go. Honest, I have NO clue what this is, I have just tried to ignore it and keep from braking hard. HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS HAPPEN? IS THIS THE SAME SOUND YOU'VE HEARD RIZZIE?

sciontc mich it was that dust shield, i was searching around for noises on the site and i seen that mentioned and sure enough a part was bent sittin right on the rotor. so i bent it back and drove it for a while and that was the problem. got that done before bringin it back to the dealership. crazy how the simplest things make problems like that. thanks for real though.

and uncblue i aint have that problem so im not too sure on that sound. doesnt sound too good though lol.
