Default Do I need to buy a strut/shock set to use my H-Tech springs?

I just got my Tein H-tech lowering springs not to long ago and I have heard that I need to buy a strut/shock set to go with my springs. I heard that if I install the springs without new struts/shocks then my stock set will give out from the lowering, is this true? Do I really need a new strut/shock set? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you should be fine with just the springs for a long time at least eventually u might wanna upgrade but h techs arent really that dramatic of a drop so u should be fine.. just make sure to get an allignment after the drop and watch out for the potholes and the stockies should hold up forever

there are a whole bunch of TC owners who own S-techs on stock shocks and i have heard no complaints that the shocks blew out.....so u should be fine w/ H-techs

you'll be fine for many miles to come, wait at least 2 weeks before getting an alignment.

I've been on H-Techs/Stock shocks for about 20k and no problems so far *knock on wood*....The stock shocks with a drop will give out sooner than on stock springs...

after my drop i went in for an allignment and i didnt even need one... but now after a few months my springs have settled a bit more and no im starting to get a negative camber up front which sucks for my tires.... time for an allignment now too noticed it is pulling a little to the right sucks because the only place in town with a low prof lift charges 120 for a allignment

get struts/shocks. They make a noticeable difference and you will save 200 plus on labor/alignment. Your stockers will give out soon enough even with a moderate drop...

I say if you have the money go for the struts/shocks. it definitely wont hurt. but if not, you should be fine on the stock shocks for a good while

i just installed my tokico blue shocks with progress springs. drop is perfect and now i can save my stock shocks just in case for something. on another note, the stock shocks werent made to work with shorter (lowering) springs. the ride quality will also improve too.

I would say no you dont becase people with a bigger drop(s-techs) have gone 20K+ with those. But I just bought H&R's and Tokico shock/struts because i figured i would get some better shock/struts than stock to have a better ride and handling plus they will last longer for sure. But get an alignment about a week or 2 after you get your springs on. Or thats the usual concensus on alignment after lowering from what i have heard.

I just went from being lowered on stockers to lowered on tokico hp blues. Night and day difference. Its a way better and firmer ride. The stockers just feel sloppy...
