Default Eibach..

Ok...heres the story. Tomorrow I'm goin to be lookin at a tC that he had taken his car to a place named "speed shop" to get his Eibach springs put on. Needless to say they screwed it up...they did not use the bump stops provided and re-used the stock ones, they got rid of the instructions among other things...

Ok well the driver side front shock is makin a noise as if you were bouncing a tire on the floor going over a speed realllllly slow and now I just got a message from him sayin the rears are creakin now..

My questions are this....wat do you guys suppose it is, i have a new shock to replace the front one to hopefully eliminate that noise.
Also do the bumpstops need to be cut in the rear?
Are there anything else I should really need to know about the installation with Eibach being that I have never installed a set, (but have installed springs on tC more than a few times) so that I can check it out?

(Yes i have searched!!! lol)
Thanks in advance!

did you see a difference between the 2 bumpstops.. and the creaking might be because something is not tight on the strut..

The shop got rid of the Eibach bumpstops, so I dont have an idea of the size.
And I going to check again, but I have already looked at it once, and everything seemed just about overtightened.....

the squeaking could be break in period too, if those are brand new springs..

did you double check to make sure the springs was seated properly? on the side that he is complained about have you dropped to to take a better look at the seating of the top mounting plate? i noticed on sabas car that the top mount when i first started working on it they didnt seat the notch on the underplate correctly and actually made a new nitch... i guess from tighting the crap out of it. i adjusted that, made sure the foam washer looking thing that sits on top of the ballbearing housing wasnt damaged. and just make sure everything is tighted up. try that out, check it, and reinstall it. then tell em to take a ride and look for bumps and see if that helped

Which set of Eibachs did your friend get?

I have the Pro-kit and I had a noise problem to when I went over speed bumps. It was a creaking noise. I fixed that problem by tightening up all the bolts again.

That was either the solution to my problem or it was the break-in period for the new springs as a member has mentioned in the previous post. About the bump stops, from what I remember I don't think the size of the OEM and the one provided from Eibach were noticeably different in size. I hope this helps.

Ok well I checked it out today, and the new shock solved the front noise, everything was installed right and secure when i first saw it....
The rear driver side spring was not seated properly and also, they didn tighten the bolt securing the bottom of the strut, lol...I could loosen it by hand...and it looks like it solved the rear...

So hopefully that takes care of it, but I appreciate the input guys!!
