So changing the motor mounts to polyurethane will make the ETD obsolete or is it twice as good when the two are used in conjunction with one another. Any engine mount diy's anywhere?

It will make it twice as good, but can become rather noisy with vibration.

sweet, just got my tC back with the motor mounts and all the suspension bushing minus the sway bar bushings, and it is awesome, i haven't pushed it yet, but i can already feel the difference.

just a word to the wise, it is a pain in the butt to do, mainly just to get the suspension bushings out. my dealership charged me 14 hours of labor, but said the next person who asks to have this done is getting charged 20 hours of labor.

also, apparently the best way to get the bushings out...well...you take the part off, set it on fire and let it burn out. then put the new ones in...so yeah, this doesn't seem like a fun install, glad i work full time now and can afford this labor.

14 hours of labor!? How much did that run you if you don't mind me asking. I have a set of ES motor mount inserts waiting to be put on, but I'm waiting to find a extra set of mounts since I can't have the car on stands for more than a few hours. Even then the prices to press out the mounts were ridiculous. Shops wanted $35-$45 a mount. Thats pretty hefty seeing as how the install will more than double the cost of the mounts. That itself scarred me away from even buying the bushing kit; which I've been wanting for ages after reading the SCC when they installed them on their project car.

14 hours does seem excessive for sure, all though some of these bushing are nestled into places fairly well for sure.

yeah, well, they didn't press the mounts out, they ended up removing the part, and burning the OE bushing out before putting the new one on, and putting it back on the car. i know it is alot, but my dealership gives me a good discount because i'm friends with my service advisor and the head of the service there, and they have one of the best toyota technicians, and they gave me a free loaner car while they were working on my tC, and after what happened between me and p-tuning, i have no problem because i know they will stand by their work.

but from what i've gathered, changing suspension bushings is a major pain in the butt, that is from some of my gear head customers at work, garage1217 said it would be a major PITA, so i have no problem paying to make somebody else deal with it for me.

also, this was all the suspension bushings, minus the sway bar bushings, since i have hotchkis sways, and the motor mounts, which requires dropping the transmission. so 14 hours all around, with mainly one guy, probably a second set of hands when necessary.

so i have a quick question. with all these mounts that you have to replace, do you have to lift anything? like, lift up the motor to get the mounts out? or something of that nature? or can i do it all in my garage? i have everything from air guns to torque wrenches. all i dont have is a lift or engine hoist.

Do you carry the front sway bar bushings for a 06 Xa?

if dezod doesn't have them, i'd maybe check on the energy website, see if they have a set for the toyota echo which would probably be the exact same set. as the xa. or if you get a set of sway bars, they probably have their own bushings.

All of the bushings listed are either for the tC or xB. None are listed for the xA, but that doesn't mean one of these others might not fit. Please snap a pic of the bushings, and the note the bar diameter.

ok so motor mounts not fun to deal with. what about the other bushings? are they worth changing out and are they hard to get to. i want to get the hyperflex master bushing set. but i will be changing all but the bushings on my TRD rear sway bar and ima keep the front sway bar bushings stock. im not a fan of dropping the sub frame. especially for only 2 bushings. but is it worth changing out the rest of the bushings in the kit? does it really make a big dif?

The bushings make an incredible difference, however are a bit cumbersome to get on and done.

I had them on two of my past cars and the vibration is there, but you get used to it within a week and there is a definate improvement off the line, maybe not time wise but at least with the way it feels off the line.
