I want to unlock the collars so I can get to the threads behind the spring and clean them. Besides I don't want to have them installed and pay extra for 2extra hours of labor because "we had to struggle with the threads" I'm pretty sure I'll be having someone else install these.

^ yup what he said..watch you are gonna be kicking yourself in the butt saying dam i should of done this a long time ago instead of wasting time and energy trying to unlock them not on the car. Good luck bro....

Has anyone else with the H&R Coilovers noticed creaking noises coming from what seems to be the top mounts? Particularly when they are cold and there is a change in elevation (ie. going up an uphill driveway). I don't notice noise when the car is moving but up to about 15mph, i can hear it.
My theory is that because im so low (I'm pretty low) the mounts are out of they're range of motion? Any thoughts are appreciated.
