Default HELP! another set of tires gets eaten up again...

oh yeah.. here we go..
so.. i got hotchkis spings, tokico shocks and as far as i know.. this setup is not a bigass drop...

so i had a falken 452's and all the tires was bold just after i put 10k miles in them.. yeah.. never rotated.. checked the air pressure only when i could tell they need air when i looked at them....

this tires was installed by goodyear ( balanced, etc)

so.. just after 10k miles i had to get new tires.. because the 452's were BALD!!!i went with falken 512's... learned my lesson, so installed, balanced by toyota and i asked them to do my allignment.

my ride was REALLY noise after this.. toyota said its the tires .. so nothing to do with it..
okay. after 5k the tires still looked good.. ahhem.. yeah.. right.. i took it to toyota again to get it rotated, and get the alingment fixed.. yeah.. they called me that they cant do anything with my car.. they could do my tire rotation but they cant do the alignment because i have aftermarket wheels and srings.... lol.. cool.. all the time i went to toyota to do my alignment they never told me that they couldnt even do it for me.. well.. thank you to be honest with me this time...so i went to 441 to find a place where it could be done..
after i visited like...the 5th place i found a garage where they told me they will do it

cool

they took off my tires and they told me i have a big problem... al my tires on the inside is like.. wavy..... lol!!! they checked the balancing and they had to rebalance all my tires! they did the rotation.. rebalance.. and alingnment and well.. 4-5 k miles past since and my tires getting bold again... i dont know what to do...

i have to do this $100 dollar rotation/alignment pocedure every month? check the pressure every morning?????????????????????? or what???

this is like $700 in the last year just for the tires...

i went to discountiredirect.com to check some reviews and everyon had like 30-40 k miles on these tires.. LOL>. i got only 10k!!!!!!! with both tires.. okay a lil bit more than 10..................

so what should i do???? my drop isnt that BIIIIIG i have at least 1.5 finger gap all around... i dont know if i would get camber kits it would help.. they could make it more closer to stock spec???
or what?

its not the falken tires...

get an alignment from a reputable place. i was on my stock tires for 20k on the hotchkis springs, and no uneven wear on the rears when i replaced them.

You should ask the tech if the camber is too negative. If you got a print out of the alignment you could see how far out your camber is. You may need a kit. Let me know what the camber is compared to the min and max spec.

so it looks like your camber is within spec. i don't understand why you'd have problems then.

it sounds like the alignment wasn't done correctly. The alignment should have corrected it if done correctly. But yeah, when ur lowered, you have to go to a shop that has a pit to go under the car. But those are decent tires and shouldn't be wearing that soon...too bad u don't live in cali because we have an awesome alignment place out here that i could recommend to you

get another alignment, check toe and check it again. get camber links. take all the weights off the rims and rebalance em.

1) How much do you weigh ?
-Consider finding a shop that will do your alignment with you sitting in the car. Overloading the suspension will cause a lot more negative camber.

2) How bad are your potholes? How often do you drag race?
-A bent axle will cause that tire wear, especially the wavy.

3) What is your suspension setup, and how low are you? If you have adjustable dampening, what did you put it on?

-Let's get to the bottom of this.

Please get back to me on the other questions when you get a chance....

Causes of dynamic negative camber include-

-Weight
-Bent axles
-Bent suspension parts
-Too low, or too soft of springs FOR that height.

Also... you can't really tell toe that much without seeing wear, but you can tell if the car turns faster one way or the other. In addition, if you're driving on the interstate in a straight line, and let the wheel go... your car will veer towards the side of more positive camber, at a rate that shows you the difference in the cambers.

In addition, are the fronts wearing faster than the backs, or vice versa?

In addition... did you use an alignment kit, such as from Progress?

Use of factory crash bolts is not recommended... since they are generally softer material and physically smaller... they can bend/stretch in a hard turn or under load, changing your dynamic camber again.

The alignment is off. I would be looking more at toe than camber. Find a good alignment shop that can figure it out for you. If camber is WAY off, you will see more wear on the insides, but I would not expect the extreme you are seeing.

If it is toe, you will most likely see a feathering or cupping pattern on the edges. This will also create more noise when driving.

And rotate at every oil change.
