Default Help with Rear Strut Removal

Hey guys, my impact wrench/air compressor tank combo isn't powerful enough, and I broke two socket wrenches trying to remove the bolt at the bottom of the rear strut tower. I'm wondering what you guys used...? Does anyone have any hints or tips on removal?

Big ___ breaker bar. Or a small pipe on the end of a ratchet. I think 1/2" drive is nearly required b/c of the stress on it.

The pipe extension or "sissy bar" on the end of a ratchet or wrench never failed me yet. While trying to pull off the crank pulley on an F-150 Lightning, I got a little inspired and ended up using a sissy bar setup with a 10000 lb rated crank down strap tied around the passenger rim spoke! All I have to say is... it worked hehe. PB Blaster that thing and sissy bar your way to success!

I also posted this over on ystc on your thread.

Not sure how you are trying it, but you need to hold the nut with a wrench and turn the bolt, not the other way around. The nut and its contact point are knurled.

Other than that, some penetrating oil and a breaker bar are what you need.
