Hotchkis Springs
#83
I just order Hotchkis springs last night from trdsparks.com for around $160, and cant wait to get them here soon. I have read through the installation instructions online and it seems pretty starightforward. I am sure I can handle it myself. The only question so far is do I need the tourque wrench or just a regular wrench of appropriate size will work. Spring compressor i can rent in the local AutoZone store.
I also get MMW headrs and spipe intalled, but i want the local shop do it coz i dont want to mess with motor components.
If you guys installed Hotchkis springs before, please let me know how was the istall, which part was the toughest and how to avoid any problems.

ok so of everyone who has their hotchkis springs has there been a need to upgrade the shocks? they arent tooo much lower than a fully settled TRD drop so since OEM shocks work with TRD springs then will my Springs which i've had since december 05 still wear out my shocks?

I've had my Hotchkis springs on for probably 17k or so and no issues. Ideally, if you can upgrade your OEM shocks/struts, you should. Any lowering spring will likely wear them out faster than the OEM springs ... but the problem is there's no way to know for sure how long they'll last.

the guy who installed my springs said that it shouldnt settle and the ones that do settle mean that they are made of cheap material. this guy has a custom built integra so i'm sure he knows what he's talking about

Does he even have springs on his integ, or coilovers? I could see coilovers not settleing at all.
How long have you had yours on?
Oh, and was there a big chunk of this thread deleted? Or were there seriosly no posts between April 06 and March 07?
My bad...I was thinking of the thread titled "hothckis springs!!!!!" as opposed to this thread titled "Hotchkis Springs" How could I have ever mixed that up?
