javi... you'll be fine man. remember your on 18s with fat tires... the only thing (if you havent already learned from driving a low car) is how to drive into steep inclines, speed bumps, parking ramps, and dips... as long as you learn to hit those things from an angle and not straight on you'll be fine. also remember NOT to go fast when you are doing this as you run the risk of the car slamming down more then what it needs to to get over the humps.. just always rememeber... slow and from an aggresive angle and you will not scrape your lip.. any questions bro LMK!

not really... anything over 1.5" is not recommended on stock struts. Depending on driving habits and what not you can easily blow a strut completely because you are compressing the strut more than its engineered to be and can't rebound properly when hitting dips. However you'd have to be going 60+mph while hitting a dip to do this so odds are you'd never have it happen BUT it is possible. I won't even go into the tires contact patch and the A arm factors on drops over 1.5" without camber kits

but then again its never stopped me either

I've had the Hotchkis springs on stock struts for more than a year, and >30K miles. No issues at all, never rubbed. As others have said, just be careful on driveways etc.

30k miles nice...how long do shocks actually last anyways w/ out a drop? Im still kinda skeptical about getting hotchkis, but i love the way they look!!!

if you take your time and "watch" where your going when driving then you'll be fine! dont take big dips too fast!

i just put the springs in today but im waiting for them to settle in good, i already like the way it closed that gap between the fender and the tire, so im guessing its only gonna get better, as for the lip ive had 0 problems (pics comming soon)

I don't think you'll be happy with the TRDs. That's why I switched to the Hothckis. I have to take my driveway at an angle, but that's it. If not, I just scrape the plastic under cover, not the bumper.

But if your concerned with clearance issues with the lip kit, you don't have to settle for the TRDs. You can get either the Eibach or H&R springs. Both are lower then TRD but higher then Hotchkis. I think the Tien H-Techs are slightly higher then the Hothchkis as well.

man this ____ is frustratin. lol. i was thinkin bout the tein H from the beginning, but i jus fear the dips. im very impatient goin extra slow over dips and i dont want to end up wit a cracked lip, or a lip that needs to be repainted from being scraped. i also heard some peeps talkin bout there exhaust or some type of pipe scrapin. i definatley dont want that. and like i said b4, will having my car lowered give me a higer risk for hydro locking my car if i went over a puddle with an intake?

i want a nice decent drop, but i jus dont want any problems. errrr, y must this decision be so hard for me
