When I has S-techs I just drove through speed bumps like nothing. I never go head on (apply directly the the forehead... lol sorry) on a driveway, I've always gone at an angle, even with my 4Runner. SF hills weren't a problem when I had S-techs either. But now I'm on coils and now I scrape on anything higher/lower than the ground.

The main thing is go at an angle, drive slow, and avoid potholes.

^^hey, it's all about looking good! I don't mind sacrificing some things:

-drive slowly, especially in areas that you have never been

-watch the cars in front and see if there are any upcoming dips or bumps in the road.

-watch the road for any debris: trash, scrap metal/wood, etc

-I scout out driveways, sometimes you can get in but getting out is the problem. If it looks too steep, it probably is.

-park far away from parking stops/curbs or you'll hear the scrape, rip your bumper/lip or worse the whole thing will come off.

-if you have no choice but to get out of a driveway with a dip, try to get your car as parallel to the street as you can and turn your wheel all the way pointing to the street. That way, your wheel will hit the bump first and clear your front.

BTW, I'm on Hotchkis springs with CF front lip. Front lip is 4 inches from the ground and I scraped twice the first week. Been two months and no problems and I drive a lot. Just drive extra carefully and look before you leap!

i had my step bro and my step mom in there

my bro is 6'6" and like 260 and my step mom, well yeah lets just say it was about a 500lb combined weight, when we got home i had to yell "OUT" before i could park lmao

when you are parking up against a curb or those parking blocks, look into the paint of the car next to you and as long as its somewhat shiney, you can see the reflection of your car pulling up to the curb/ block. from there you can see how far u are from the curb and park w/o loosing ur front end. works every time.

Wow I have completely changed my mind about dropping my car. The most I'm going is 1.5". I just don't have the patients or the will to be that careful and drive that slow. It's maybe because I'm younger than most people here, but Id rather have peace of mind that I wont scrape, rather than constantly worrying.

you guys know just the basics, try driving on s-techs with the M-3 front or the kaminari<<this one is a mission to get around with because every small dip it scrapes because it's like 3" off the ground.

You can't really appreciate your lowered vehicle until you come off a speed bump too fast and land on the pinch weld, pushing your ___ into your stomach.

Speed bumps are my only issue.

well to be really honest.. i would have almost no problem if i wouldnt have to park front of 40 houses every weekend ( occupational hazard)

so as long as you dont do the same and only drive your car from your house to your work and your gf hous then you will be okay.

if you pass a speed bump without scraping the front your bound to scrape the sides, it's just horrible but atleast it's not fiberglass that would crack right then and there. as for the M3 front i can say that it's just abit lower than the RS1 front lip if not the same i think but on the freeway crusing and where the road goes up and down you have to be careful because it can scrap alittle bit kit arent't for me anymore because i hate people honking at me while i have to take like forever just to pass by.

Wow, I've dropped the rear some more and it's a totally different monster... I'm scraping the front a little less because I'm tryin' to be a little more careful.... but now I'm scraping the middle on some tall speed bumps.

I thought I was going to see-saw the b!+ch when I went over the top of a steep driveway at a local strip mall.

I guess I gotta pay to play...

^weird i'm on s-techs and i never scraped the GFX sides at all, plus my rear is tucking more than the front because my system is heavy so it sits lower (no finger gap for the rear).

i have 1.5 finger gap at the rear and its still too rigid sometimes...

when 2 ppl sits in there its just okay but it if there would be no finger gap and two ppl sit in it.. im pretty sure it would be really bad...

i do this a lot (that is, when i park next to cars, lol - I try to find a nice BMW or Lexus to park next to)

but basically just be aware of your surroundings and the road. if your not sure if something in the road will clear your bumper or not....AVOID IT! lol

don't forget about places that do maitenance and change tires

a lot of them only have ramp lifts...
even my car, with the trd springs, scraps up on those
you gotta find a place with the lifts that lift in place

huh
all i'm sayin is beware of those situations cause i had to go through the same doodoo. wasted my time and gas....

funny thing is, I called my local toyota dealer to do an alignment, and they asked me if I was lowered. I said yea, i am.
Then they told me they couldn't do alignments for lowered cars because their lifts wouldn't allow them...
i told them i was lowered on trd springs, TRD SPRINGS! and they still said NOOOOOOO

how can ya sell me trd springs and say THAT...... hahahahahaha
