tried the dealer and they told me no, i used to work at a dealer and i told them that i wouldn't have a problem putting the car on the lift but my thought is that they reject lowered cars to avoid problems like if a side skirt breaks they are liable for the repair because they are the ones who where working on the car at the moment.

I spoke with my local dealer's service advisor and their alignment guy. The problem with the alignment machine is the steep angle of the ramps. We could block up the front tires to raise the angle of attack on the ramps, but as soon as they cleared the top then the subframe rails would drag and hang the car. I'm still looking for an alignment place with a pit setup like the oil change places, that would be ideal.

I have s-tech's also and it took a little while getting used to what my cars limits were.

I just regret not getting coilovers instead. Like for road trips where the roads are new, lift it an extra inch. Then when i'm back in down, re-drop. Right now on my springs I got less than an inch clearance on tall speed bumps, one full inch on smaller ones. Driveways can be hazardous but I just park in the street if possible. Curbs are my only enemy. Like someone said, you rub a curb your not scuffing tire anymore, your doing body damage, lol.

I drove too far over a curb stopper thing and taco'd my bumper, popping my grill out. Some TLC and a repaint and now I know better.

My ideal would be in-car right height adjustable coilovers. But, that will be for when I get a much more ideal car, haha. Perhaps some Basics for the tC.

Btw I wonder if the dealer would jack up the car and move it onto the ramp? Front first, then back? When I got aligned my friends shop had long wooden boards. Worked well. Kind of ghetto I guess for a Toyota dealer though.

I know it's a PITA to adjust coilovers, but it would be beneficial to have adjustable ride height for long trips. Like if i'm going up north where the snow and rougher roads are at, I could take the time to lift the car slightly to give me less of a chance of damaging.

All that needs done is jacking up the car and adjusting right? Never had coilovers on a car, just quads, haha.

Being bagged would be sick, but I always thought bags weren't very good for handling. Too spongy. Never had those either so i'm just going off of what I hear.

on both coil over set ups i have had the fronts were very easy to adjust (could acutally adjust the H&Rs with out taking the wheel off, just jack the car up). but the rears are a PITA to adjust.

One story i'd like to share is my experience with a speed bump. having lowered my tc also, i was driving down my street at 35mph (notice i said my street i;ve driven through there various times) so one night i was casually driving down the road and all hear is my car just lift up and smack hard on the pavement, turns out the city decided to place speed bumps and the street is at a weird angle that you can't really see anything beneath until your there. there were no signs saying there was a speed bump and i felt horrible about what just happened to my car..

I just might be saving money or at least gradually recouping the money spent on the front lip, reason being: there are a lot of places I don't go to anymore, 'cuz my car won't make it into the parking lot lol.

x2: Gotta pay to play!

Yea you have to drive slow on dips or humps..its true, sad to say. My car isnt lowered but it has a lip kit on it. One day I was driving my girl home and i busted a U turn onto the sideway. Scratched my entire right side of the lip. I took the turn some what fast but i dont really understand the concept on why the lip got scratched considering i have always gone up that part of the road and never had a problem. Probably something with physics but whatever, now i know i have to go slow

never lowered a car before, but will soon be installing trd shocks & springs. Everything I've read here says get an alignment. Now how am I supposed to do that without scraping up my car?

TRD springs will only drop you 1.25", so there should be no worries about scraping.

I have a question. Say there's no way around it, and I would have to take a ferry. But getting off the ferry, there is a pretty big ramp, maybe 50 degree angle (?), how would I confront this?
