I work at a Toyota dealer, and one of the mechanic's told me they do make TPMS sensors that have a rubber stem. He walked me out to the lot and showed me the two different types.

I vote to just get your gauges redone a diff color (adds a cool touch)and have them remove the tpms sensor led if you check pressure regularly while they have the gauge cluster apart
