I need some advice
Ive got a obsidian widebody on 19's. The car looks like a 4 by 4 and needs lowered. I also need some wheel spacers on the hubs. Problem is, right now the back wheels will rub when i hit a big bump. I want to lower the car, but dont want to lose a flare if I take out a big bump. Anyone have any suggestions? How about a still suspension like airbags, something I could drive at standard heights and lower at shows. The car is not daily driven but is "sunday" driven. I drive my cougar eerywhere while the tc sits in the garage. If its nice out I take it on drives and it will be driven to shows. So I dont need anything thats gonna be built for autocross and great handling, but i do want something thats gonna look good without killing my paint and body.

A Coilover setup is probably your best bet cost effectively. The spring rate and height is adjustable...Tein has a few different models, Koni, Megan, and there's a few others. Or a nice simple drop with just springs / shocks...TRD, and the H-Techs are nice clean drops that aren't too low and from what i hear, don't cause rubbing with 19's

uh.... what else would u do other than springs. coilovers are your best bet and i know your looking at bags bc of your posts and i don't know if you've ever ridden in a bagged car but its bounceir than stock. Go HKS coilovers or teins with adjustable dampening through the edfc and you'll be set. that should eliminate all of your bouncy issues

I think you all are mis-understanding. Thats why Im looking for advice. Im already rubbing, and need spacers to get me out to the flares edge. Thats why I need a STIFF suspension. Springs will only make it bouncier. I need something that will enable me to bring out the wheel with out damaging the flare. Something I can raise to drive around in, and lower at shows. It need to keep the wheels down from the body when driving around.
Here are some pics of what Im talkin about.
Bad pic but the best I could do with the lighting. Thats the actual scratch. The scratch is on the underside of the flare, you cant really see the flare's line
Stock height.. thats why I need lowered ;D (No the body isn't scratched to the right or left of the flare, it must be the lighting)
And thats why I need spacers

i think coilovers are your best bet. the problem with bags is that they have an optimal ride pressure and typically its lower than stock (which wouldn't be good for you) for example when they are fully inflated they ride really stiff and you can barely survive it.
They're just very impractical.
But hey man if u wanna go for em do it but i think you'll not be happy with the results

again, when i informed you of the coilovers, i said that the height AND spring rates were adjustable. You can make it stiffer, or bouncier. Tein SS-P's are some of the best IMO and with the EDFC, you can adjust it from inside the car, while ur driving. When you hit a bump or a dip, only the shocks will move pretty much while the car stays still. The rubbing will decrease
