i just got one and i like it, i thought it was loud at first but it's ok now after messing with dynamat and rubber washers and stuff. it deffinetly does everything people say it does, easier shifts, almost no wheel hop, and it deffinetly feels like it puts more power to the ground. although i do think that the people that say it's perfectly quiet must have intakes or exhaust covering up the sound of the damper. you can deffinetly hear that it's there but it's not unbearable or anything don't get me wrong.

i think it's adjusted to about 13mm right now, i think i might stiffen it up to 12mm but it seems to make more noise when it's cold, so i might wait till spring once it warms back up again to stiffen it up.

also from reading things on here about it (before i got it) i was a bit confused on how the adjustments went, but i measured it with a dial caliper to set it and i realized it really has infinite adjustability not just the 6 settings i thought. obviously you can just measure exactly 10mm or 14mm or whatever but you can also set it to say 12.34 or 13.83 or anything you like. no sense in really setting it to a wierd number but i just noticed that... like i said i had no idea how the thing was adjusted. i just think it's cool that you can really fine tune it like that even though i doubt you would notice a difference from say 12mm to say12.5 but whatever. i deffinetly recomend the damper to anybody.

i'm actually moving pretty slow with my mods. the damper was my first real mod besides putting a subwoofer in the back. i can;t seem to save enough money. i have so many things i need to save for. but i love the damper. great product even on a stock car.

Why would you assume it was broke? Is their a noise or a bang that would lead you to that thought? If not have you thought you might just be used to the part now?

the colder weather is definitely making the rattle/vibrating alot worse. i think i will have to try these rubber washers and play with my raamat, and if that doesn't help, i'll have to loosen it.

Im guessing in the summer, the heat expands the metal so it sits better in place.

The issue isnt the metal shrinking or expanding. The elastomer is reacting to the tempratures. The key to limit vibration is to check length of the ETD and make sure all of the hardware from the kit was installed correct and torqued down.

since the question keeps getting asked, i am not the only one. the single page install instructions are inferior when compared to the great write up here on page 1. the adjustment instructions are even worse.

According to the diagram there are 3 nuts:
Preload Adjusting Plunger
Helm Join Locking Jam Nut
Locking Jam Nut

Step 3 says, ajust the "Adjusting Plunger Jam Nut". Ok I will assume that is the first item, which is the middle nut...but what do i know? it also says in step 4 that you need to tighten the Locking Jam Nut...but it never tells you when you were supposed to LOOSEN it.

can someone please confirm the proper procedure and the nuts that need to be touched in order?

The first one who answers this for me gets a hearty "Happy Thanksgiving!"

According to the directions, that install pic and description above is incorrect.
Its the far nut that gets the GOLD washer UNDER the bracket.

The near bolt gets a normal washer ABOVE the bracket. This is in their install sheet and pictured in Illustration 2 & 3 (although i don't see why they couldn't make the pictures any bigger to make it clear).

This would appear to make sense since the far part would have the bulk of the bracket resting on the new small hex nut. The GOLD bolt would give it more 'shelf' to rest on and could be the reason for a bit of the wobble/vibration you folks experience when installing the other way.

Yea, the DIY is wrong. I noticed that when I installed mine.. just go by the Ingalls instructions here:
