Wow I have had this problem on my front drivers side strut forever. I jacked my car up and jerked the wheel up and down and behold! It was the nut on the very top of the strut. It was very loose and bouncing up and down. I tightened it up and it's good as new! I'm so happy cause I almost bought new struts.

Does anyone have a pic of this "top nut"? It doesnt sound like its any of the three bolts securing the top of the strut, so what is this other nut you are talking about. I have the same problem everytime i go over speed bumps. I have TRD springs, stock shocks

It's the nut underneath the rubber cover in the middle of the 3 nuts on the top of the strut tower. You have to peel off the rubber cover to see the nut.
